So after one side went the other decided to follow suit.

Look at the state of this one, not even sure if it's repairable!

That is indeed a worry sir. I am wondering if there is another problem in your window mechanism that is causing excessive forces? I don't think this sort of break is a common problem. I put 4200 window motors on both my 3200 doors as the 3200 ones are made of butter. The 4200 motors generate a bit more force too, clearly enough to break the metalwork! I would look at the whole mechanism before replacing/repairing this.

It is a shock that they are so weak and the cost to replace the item is ridiculous. All other aspects of the frame and rails seems to be ok with no indication of extra force being applied
