Might aswell give him some free advertising , great place to stop , excellent food , second to none steaks and Veal /http://www.jollymiller.co.uk/

Looks like a nice place. Potentially a good stop for anyone crossing the Humber bridge.

I bought my QP in Scunthorpe, so familiar territory for me. Dropped in on the dealer about 4 months later (travelling between Edinburgh and London) and he was terrified I was returning the car. He literally ran out the back door of the place when he saw me pull up.

Property of all sorts will be interesting, as I think there will be a boom in both demand and supply - so high transaction volumes and very volatile prices, I suppose.
Boom alright, in prices falling.
Very few able to get loans because they’re skint.

I will probably do a spur of the moment saturday/sunday afternoon lunch meet there soon as there is a sign of the lockdown being lifted , car parking for 45 cars so an ideal venue even for the kids aswell , but i'll post it once i see a glimmer of a light at the end of the tunnel

Yep.... I'm not sure of UK property dynamics, but Aus property is facarkt.
  • governments needing to wind back tax breaks on negative gearing and capital gains to recover revenue shortfalls
  • governments needing to shrink the size of the public service that has bloated beyond control in recent times
  • banks facing increased borrowing costs despite near zero interest rates, once the credit downgrade comes through
  • banks de-risking their books by tightening credit to a more vulnerable customer base
  • consumers losing disposable income through unemployment or underemployment

Hard to see property losses in melb and sydney not hitting 15 to 25 percent in the next 2 years.

Try 50-60%, one of the most overvalued property markets on the planet (most borrowers have f all savings)........and NZ is even worse!!!!

Network engineers, cloud architects and cyber security consultants. Many large clients i deal with, whilst having remote working foist upon them, have learned to live with this new reality, and realise the appreciable savings in converting 10 to 25% of the workforce to a work from home basis... The commercial lease savings are substantial.

OHS consultants to facilitate a more stable transition to safe and orderly work from home.

Governance and risk consultants, and those who market themselves as BCP and DR specialists...

Software vendors of managed device / endpoint productivity.

Do any of those and you'll find plenty of work out for 1 to 2 years...
I’m fortunate to work for a software vendor and work from home every day. I also support the largest UK bank and to be honest I’ve went from toddling by to being snowed under daily due to this.
I do feel for the others not so fortunate. :-(

Yeah, similar situation for me in Oz too. I work in 'tech' and am doing 80 hours a week. Laptop and 2 large screens on the dining table so breakfast, lunch and dinner next to the workstation. The missus is QA manager for a gold mining company and she's flat out too. Extremely lucky in a world less fortunate. We emptied the cupboards out last week and took all our blankets and pillows to some homeless fellas sleeping rough near the MCG. The spike in homelessness was instantaneous here...

And i have committed that when i buy replacement manchester... Regardless of price, brand or quality, it will NOT say 'Made in China'
I’ll translate- “Manchester”.
Bizarrely, here in Oz, its the name given to bedding and associated products.

I know, bit of a weirdo thing down here - anyway foibles where are u based as I’d happily meet up with a distance of 1.5 meters between us and buy u a beer! We can ponder your Manchester purchase.

Have the government not put in restrictions to eviction processes for up to 3 months , like in the UK
Yes you make a valid point and yes they have but two things to note...1. Legislation (or code to be precise) was only instituted a few days ago... Financial impacts however started a bit earlier and 2. As I've read many others here point out in relation to UK stimulus measures.... There will always be some who fall between the cracks. I'm not sure what these examples may be... People who'd been couch surfing perhaps. People who'd been subletting.... Domestic arguments causing broken homes.... People to ashamed, embarrassed or confused to know how to seek help. All I can say is... I saw the effects immediately. Fortunately, it's not scaled up... Methinks... As I'm not supposed to leave the house at night. But it's still sad for those affected. One blessing.... Many homeless people get a far safer and far better night's rest.

Not as such, there’s a $1500 every two week job support.....about £1500 per month.
Printed out of thin air.
Could you survive on that ....mortgage, credit card, car loan.
Ponzi.

Scorching in one side of the street, cold on the other.
When this is over and you’re on The GC, look me up.

Could be leaner offerings next time you return. I did hear that chin chin had moved to home delivery. Every landscape will be different. I'm frequently in brissie for work.. So will try to give you a hoy when I'm allowed to fly, presuming we have more than one airline operating... In which case flights might be a fair whack more in the brave new world.
