Spring window regulator missing

New to the forum! Read a lot of tips/tricks, but now I need your help.

Purchased a 2004 Spyder in Q3 2019 (yellow) that I'm currently restoring. Just came back from the painter and I'm rebuilding it now. The window regulator on the right side was 'repaired' in the past and is missing the spring in the center. Any tips on where to find/buy just the spring, without having to buy a complete window regulator?? Thanks a lot!

Eurospares, Scuderia or Meridien are tge usual ports of call for new spare parts.
Although you might find similar parts on an Alfa Romeo 166 or similar of age. The part looks fairly generic so a bit of research may reap rewards. i.e. Not paying Maserati prices.

I am sure the regulator is shared with another car. You might be able to get hold of a scrap one and get the spring from that.

Yes, checked the bottom (twice). Unfortunately not there. Guess they didn't put it back when they tried to repair it. :( I just sent 2 companies an email if they can duplicate the spring. A picture of the Spyder (manual gearbox, 79K km):

Looks great in yellow and manual too.

The Alfa window mechanisms seem to be £50-£80 on eBay. Might be cheaper on the continent. It’s alot of money for a spring but if it gets it working again it’s probably not bad.
