There's quite a few tractors in Lincolnshire that need servicing, could he not set himself up as a mobile mechanic for farmers? Not sure if it's been done or not.

There's big money in that. A mate of mine started servicing/repairing tractors and moved on to buying them to sell, and now he leases them.
Which is mega money by all accounts.

A headhunter writes: Don't trust a headhunter - 97% are idiots or charlatans.

So when are you going to come and hunt me :)
FWIW I strongly suspect this one falls into the 97%...

I agree with this. There are a few good ones who have a decent reputation / network (often operataing in niche markets or on retainers) but I regard the rest as no better than estate agents.

Yes, absolutely. The problem is sorting the wheat from the chaff. And even the chaff might be able to get me in front of someone and thence into a new, exciting role.

Not in Lincolnshire by any chance

Tim, the guy in question is one of those people that inspires honesty , confidence and trustworthiness the first time you meet him , just found out he's a MOT tester as well so I doubt he'll be unemployed long.

No, in Kent near me.

He, worked as a grease monkey in a little garage. Got laid off for being a lazy ar5e.
Then worked on his girlfriends dads farm doing little jobs, then a tractor broke down. He fixed it much quicker and cheaper than the guy they would call out normally. Word got around, and the rest is history.

Now leases out £250k John Deere's. The money on them is huge.
He buys them on finance and then re-finances it to the farmers.
Sounds a bit like sub-letting to me, but apparently is all legal and he does very well out of it.

Now has his own farm. As well as the tractor leasing business.

Good morning, you lot!
I'm in Lille and shall be proud to use my European Union passport this evening when going home, with those words still being valid.
I had a local speciality for dinner last night. A "Welsh". Bread soaked in beer with cheese and mustard layered on top; I had added duck. I enjoyed the chips on the side and the duck. I suspect it could be a good post-booze-up combination as chips with the cheesy, beery, mustardy goo on top.

HapPea Friday!

Morning, all. This is the first Friday in four weeks that I’ve woken up in my own bed, so I celebrated by not setting an alarm. All being well a quiet day awaits, to make up for what’s been a bloody busy week.

Have a good Friday, everyone.
