Not worth starting a thread for so I'll put it in here

Does anyone know of any mechanics jobs going in Lincolnshire.

Through another forum I bought a van off a guy , in our 20 minute conversation I found him to be really knowledgeable, one of those guys that gives you confidence he'll do the job right, I picked the van up from his work , a garage that'd been there since the 20s in the middle of nowhere 10 miles from lincoln but he lives in Boston

Seems like it's a bit too remote as he's been made redundant.

I think if he could build a customer base he'd do really well but self employment isn't for everyone plus you can't set it up without money.

He's just one of those guys that gives off trustworthy and honest from the first meeting.

There's quite a few tractors in Lincolnshire that need servicing, could he not set himself up as a mobile mechanic for farmers? Not sure if it's been done or not.

Morning, early people. Bugger **** of an early start (by my standards) today to get across town for an early meeting. Then back to the shop for some office stuff, then lunch with an old colleague, now upgraded to a mate, then home early.

A headhunter writes: Don't trust a headhunter - 97% are idiots or charlatans.

I agree with this. There are a few good ones who have a decent reputation / network (often operataing in niche markets or on retainers) but I regard the rest as no better than estate agents.

Hello everyone!
A morning started with fresh raisin- filled brioche has potential for a good day.
Newton, it's a shame I'll be out else I'd offer you lunch between jobs as you'll have to pass my house pretty much.
Headhunters are usually glorified recruiters who look for people who can be persuaded to move job by a big enough pay rise. Most of them have no way of knowing if the candidate is actually any good. That said, they can be very helpful... one approached and removed our worst hire by looking at his job title and then buying into his rhetoric!

Morning all. WFH for the morning whilst Joseph gets his hair cut, needs two of us to hold him down, as it's like wrestling an octopus!

Then more of the same when back in the office.
