Hate to tell you this, but a Boss watch is probably far more trendy than anything else that's been posted so far!

Well I never.....just having a bit of a tidy up and came across a watch. Not sure when I bought it or why and have never worn it. I'm guessing it will only be pretty cheap but means I can put one post on this thread

I own and am wearing the same identical watch...I really like it as a smart everyday watch, the wife bought mine as a present one year.

£150-200 from memory

Some very nice watches on this thread, of all prices and tastes.

I have a a bit of a collection, mainly vintage. Here are a few:

Fortis Stratoliner from the early ‘90s with a Lemania 5100 movement.

Helvetia Pilots watch from 1939. Quite a chunky thing with rotating bezel.

Another 1930s Helvetia, this time a very early ‘stop’ chronograph - you can pause, or reset the running second hand without affecting the timekeeping. Next to the Timex boy’s watch I got for Christmas when I was 7 :).

Haha, sorry C :)

By way of compensation here is another Helvetia Flieger with one of it’s civilian siblings. The first one was probably used by a Luftwaffe pilot; this one was more likely used by a Czech.

Back in the day they were little or no money, but they fetch quite a bit now.

Phil, being a high level tech with a Seamaster you might appreciate the following wee story.

A friend of mine has one and had a shower wearing the watch, but unfortunately did not have the crown screwed down.
As you can imagine the watch duly stopped. He took it to his local jeweller and asked if he could repair it, and he said that he could. After about three months he hadn’t heard a thing, so he went in to see how things were going. To his horror, the jeweller handed his watch back in bits saying it was beyond repair. The idiot had even soaked some of the parts in rust remover which pretty much finished it off.

He asked if I would be prepared to have a go as I couldn’t do much more in the way of damage. After a good clean and quite a few new parts I managed to get it up and running and holding chronometric time.

Here are a few photos showing what I received, and the end result.
