I fitted an after market cruise control unit to my car many years ago now and always planned to give others some details, and here they are. The cruise conrtrol unit is this one
if you tell them you are fitting it to a 3200 they will get you the right parts. I used a small stalk for the controls and it works fine, I fitted it on the plastic at the side of the steering column. You need to modify the wiring on the pedal sensor, and also make two other connections, one to the brake pedal and also one for speed which i wired to the wiring at the back of the stereo.
Here are some pictures of the parts and the install.

Well done, great work - and for the parking sensors too. Good to see the 3200 being brought up to date with a couple of useful modifications

Nice one, I've always been a bit perplexed as to why cruise wasn't an option for such a mile muncher, especially the later 2001 year. Good info, a bit nervous about modifying the pedal pot wiring though!

Nice one mate, that looks a sure winner for us 3200 owners as I suffer "Alfa ankle" on long motorway runs
I little more technical info as to how to wire it all in would be good
I liked the way you picked up the speed sensing from the radio output. cool:)

I will get a detail photo and note of where on the brake pedal i got the contact and the radio connector i guess. The pedal sensor wiring made me nervous too. I soldered the connections and covered with adhesive lined heat shrink so these new connections would not be a problem. One thing I should mention is that occasionally if you stop the cruise with the brake pedal it will throw an error light. it clears easy enough but i just switch it off these days and try to avoid using the brakes to cut out of cruise.

Hi Davy,
I emailed the guys about it and they are saying that they need more info about the pedal pot as mine is upgraded to the contactless one I believe it is from you as the previous owner put it in. I believe they are requesting more images of the connector and voltages.

The replacement pedal sensor that I make is electrically the same as the original, same power, same connector and same voltages. The only thing thats different is that the original has two separate analogue potentiometers and so needs two 5v supplys and two 0v or gnd wires and my unit only uses one each of these.
