I don’t actually think it’s at a low ebb, I’m pretty sure people always have felt disgruntled, the difference is we now have social media and 24/7 media coverage, so everyone’s opinion is constantly circulated, making us feel thoroughly depressed with it.

Morrissey’s song, spent the day in bed.. is very apt, if you listen to the lyrics.

UK politics is now at such a low ebb that we can only choose the least worst of a pretty dire bunch of liars and cheats.

It would be bl00dy depressing if we didn't have climate campaigners to cheer us up.

Climate campaigners are worse!!!!!

I have to say I thought Corbyn was terrible last night. He says things that sound earnest, but then spouts political dogma that has failed over and over again to deliver the kind of lasting change he promises, and that is laughably lacking in common sense, let alone intellectual substance.

For example, he wants to negotiate a new leave deal that sounds almost like remaining and then present it to the British people as the alternative to remain in a new referendum in 12 months time, after the economy has further floundered and lost many many more jobs, so that we can bring the country together. How is that going to bring the country together exactly? Does he think he’s going to get everybody on the same page because the alternative pages are now effectively the same. No, the people that want to leave are still going to be the people that want to leave but now the leave option will have been removed completely and the country will be even more divided.

This is not a man who cares, this is a man who pretends to care, who will say and do absolutely anything, and sit down with anybody, just to win power to be in a position to implement his brand of Marxist idealism, idealism that has proven over hundreds of years to leave people poorer and more abject in every country where political leaders have sought to implement something like it. He hates this country and it’s history, he cares not a jot for British people and everything that makes them British people, he only cares about his own political beliefs and forcing them up on his irrespective of the longer term economic consequences. As a prime minister he would leave this country in economic ruins, and all its people poorer.

As we all argue about lack of choice and how dysfunctional the main parties are, I see wee Nicki Krankie rubbing her hands in Scotland counting down the days till Scottish Independence. And the really depressing thing is that I find myself seriously thinking about it for the first time.
So, ironically, it will be the party that stands for unionism that will shaft their Northern Irish supporters and let Scotland drift away. Who would have thought.

"Oven ready" Boris the chicken will be the biggest disaster of modern British politics if he gets in with a majority.
What a whack job, the poor in this country will rue the day he got in.

I stand by my prediction - until proven wrong of course then humble pie!
Corbyn would be a disaster, BJ less so marginally

The horses are still in the field, people go about their daily business and we adapt

Things aren't getting better over there and for once happy to be outside of it. I can't vote for either of those two so will have to be one that says anything remotely reasonable even if they have no chance of getting elected.

Tories best of a bad bunch, how anyone can vote for this labour government is beyond me.

I guess it depends on your viewpoint.

130,000 deaths very much due to 10 years of austerity isn't something I believe anyone should even consider voting for, never mind actually ticking the box.
Everything else is virtually irrelevant.
