Bike Rack for Granturismo

Hi all,

I would like to be able to transport two road bicycles on my Granturismo, but Maserati has confirmed that there is no official or recommended product for this. I know is not a car you would usually see with a roof mounted rack or a boot hanger, but was wondering if anyone knows of any product that would do the job.

Given the lack of options, I won't be picky, but preferences would be something on the back, so that I'm not that limited on speed and don't need to worry about low bridges, and something that doesn't damage the paint at the back. I would definitely like to avoid installing a towbar, since it's only every so often that I'm going to take the bikes out on this car, and also if a bike rack in a Granturismo wasn't enough of a crime, let alone a towbar!

Thanks!

I wouldn't use any rack on a GT but for my other cars I highly recommend the Saris Bones.

I’ve done this with a universal bike rack on my old GTS.... Clips attach to the top of the boot (underneath the back window), and to the bottom of the boot (just above the rear bumper)....

You get really funny looks when turning up to a muddy car park in a Granturismo with a filthy mountain bike on the back!

The only other options I thought of was ones that fit using a suction pad... this would work, but they weren’t cheap, and I couldn’t justify it given I already have a universal bike rack that I occasionally swap onto the back of my Mini, and that I have previously used on the BMW 3 series I had before.

Hi there, check out the “sea sucker” bike roof holder range. No scratching on paint work, Tested to 140mph and good for up to 20kg bikes.

I was about to say, it sounds like you want a seasucker. Never had one muself, but they seem to be the go to, and a quick google result reveals.....

Bizarre idea but some good options here not that I would ever fit a bike rack to a Maserati. Reminds me of a friend who fitted a towbar to his Lotus Esprit so that he could tow his sailing dinghy around where there's a will there's a way

I saw one of these on the M4 motorway the other day... not on a Maserati but IIRC it was a BMW M4
