Unfortunately the time has come to sell my lovely 4200, I have bought it from rockits a forum member and has been with me since March 2017.

This is the original post:

https://www.sportsmaserati.com/inde...-manual-full-gransport-look-kit-alloys.23104/

I have since then replaced the seats engines on the driver side as they burnt out and got the seat stuck in forward position and had the service done. I haven't driven it as much as I wanted too due to life circumstances.

The only reason I'm selling it is due to me moving back to Brazil my home Country and there is no way I would survive more than a week in there driving this car. It needs the clutch replaced and has currently 99k mileage.

Due to the circumstances I'm not looking for part exchanges. Selling price is £10K.

Please fell free to contact me with any questions.

So that’s about £4K all in! I am quite amazed. I got quoted a flat fee of £2.8k all in from Ferrari inc VAT for a new F430 clutch in the F1 transmission.
I would have thought a manual would be slightly cheaper or at least no more than a more modern F1.

The price is negotiable but I did take the price of the clutch into consideration already, even though I had a quote for around 3k, so might have to adjust a bit more if they are now costing 4k. At the end of the day I would like to see it going to someone that will appreciate the amazing car this is even if I have to suffer in the price, I would rather make someone happy than a dealership.

Did they quote for everything or just the clutch? HR Owen used to advertise £2500 for a clutch change on a 4200 manual... Not sure how they manage that unless the labour is essentially free or they skip out the flywheel and bearings (eek!). There is very little difference between F1 and manual assy's

My quote came from HROwen indeed. However they might not have included the flywheel (and I assume they wouldn’t skim it either). I never found out in the end as my clutch still had 60% of its life left

Not really sure on what to do, got a private offer of 6.5k and a dealer offer of 6k. Really thought it was worth more than that.

So what doens’t this have that a Gransport has? Is that just the lower ride height, different suspension, and the extra 10bhp?

The idea of a proper manual Gransport equivalent is very appealing, so recognising its high mileage with a clutch that needs replacing, surely it’s worth at least £10k isn’t it?

It's just Gransport lookalike is it not? Wheels, bumpers, side skirts etc. Interior is std 4200 as is engine, gearbox and drivetrain I believe

The interior of the GranSport is different - with the most obvious changes being to the centre consul and seats. The exhaust is different also - with different shaped tips and a valved (sports) system. So while this car does look similar to a GranSport from the exterior, that's as far as it goes.

Surely it's worth more than £6500 though! Put it up on Autotrader at £9950 and see what happens. Or try Ebay, with a reserve of maybe £7500.

Ah, an old flame....car not person ;) Sorry to see it leaving you Newton. Hope it has looked after you well.

Still a cracking looking car the 4200/GS in Blu Nettuno. Nothing good or bad is selling particularly quick at the moment and the market has stalled massively. I wouldn't be too concerned as most are having the same issues.

If you are not in any rush (I hope your not) then it will sell at a decent enough price. You just need to be patient and the right buyer will come along soon. A manual 4200 that looks like a GS is a pretty rare thing. In fact it is the only one I know of in the UK.

It would break for £6.5k so will be worth a fair bit more than that. Of course if you need to sell it quick and can't wait for the right buyer/price you may need to take a hit. However I'd be pretty confident someone would buy this at a much higher price. Only issue is (don't laugh!) that you may need to wait anything up to a year to achieve it.

An Ebay Classified Ad is your best bet for about £25 I expect as will stay on there until sold with no final value fees.
