the road to, er, Hopetoun House...

oddly enough the Cup has started to hint at such a problem recently; so when I pulled up just the other day (after the 1st run out in it); I lifted the bonnet after stopping and let things cycle-over with the radiator fans on for a couple of minutes.

(but I often do that anyway)

and it was fine.

I was speaking to Phil Kyle about it and he said it could be the fuel-pressure-regulator (between the fuel rails, at the rear of the inlet manifold) and admittedly; that has never been replaced...

what bits have you got- is there is a modification-kit available?

I just get a click and it doesn't turn over. There is a voltage drop across the ignition switch, and when the starter solenoid is hot it sometimes doesn't pull in. The "fix" is to wire a relay into the start circuit, then take the solenoid supply through it direct from the battery. It seems to be a common problem with a lot of cars over time. Or as mentioned earlier leave it 20 mins or so and it will be fine, could be embarrassing in the petrol station though.

right-

are you happy to do that yourself then- is the starter motor within easy reach on the 348?

well, in the absence of wider-feedback; perhaps I'll be the only car with a Trident on at Hopetoun?!

I'm sure that's not true in reality.

After a sustained period of 13 hour days at work, I got a complete day-off yesterday to try and give the Cup a good cleanup. And it was a peach of a day actually; an 06:30 startup lead to good productivity all day; finishing on the external stuff at about 15:30.

My 4200 is in for MOT today and should be there providing it passes / no issues, though it hasn't been used much this year and on the <1 mile to the MOT station, didn't feel too healthy.

Possibly just needing an Italian tune up, though not exactly an easy thing to do with a 170mph car :S

Weather looks typically Scottish chaps. Dry for days then when you want to get the cars out....

Windows are working like Swiss time piece, haven't tried the roof, due to the inclement weather conditions, but I'm sure normal service will be resumed.

I am planning to be there. Drove down to Edinburgh yesterday evening so a short drive Sunday morning, probably in the rain if the Met Office have it right!
