Anyone used these guys? They are sister companies and I see the parts side of the business has a Delphi air con compressor, new, 12 month warranty for less than £300 inc vat....which seems to good to be true!

Take care as they can seize and bring the car to a standstill with no alternator, PAS etc.

You get the warranty if they fit it...prices all look v reasonable and reviews seem good...just it’s £200 cheaper than elsewhere

@Devonboy Any update on this? Mine just started rattling as well. Compressor-express.de has them listed for around 500.

So I got them out - they checked out the car, declared it leak free and that the compressor was fine. They recharged it and it’s all perfect and for £70! So on that basis I would be tempted to risk it!

Ah, so you didnt get the replacement compressor. But going by your experience they do seem to know what they are doing. I will just send them an email asking about the part. Might be there is a good reason why it is that much cheaper. Will follow up once I get a reply.

So I never got a reply and couldnt wait longer so pulled the trigger on the aircon for the GT on tuesday evening. It was delivered yesterday. So far so good. I will install the unit over the weekend and hopefully everything will be in working order by next week.

So you went with air con? Be good to hear how it goes - look at their website for tips on how to fit and why compressors can fail after fitting...they did a big piece for one of the mags on this issue

Yep I went with the aircon. From what I could find it is the same one as for the coupe/GS 4200. I have 2007 GT but I can't really imagine there is any difference between the unit on a 2007 GT and a 2007 Coupe.

Thnx for the tip on the instructions. There was a nice instruction manual in the package as well. I also have a mobile airco guy that will replace the drier filter after I replace the compressor, he will also check oil and the refill the gas. So except rusty worn bolts it should be pretty straightforward.

I’m not sure it is the same. The coupe compressor has three mounting bolts and the GTS four bolts. Plus the part number is different. I’d check it carefully when you get it.

Well, it fit right on! There is one downside, it is not a Delphi part. From what I can tell it's a Chinese unit. Was to be expected for the price. Since this unit saved me only 120 euros versus the delphi unit from compressor-express.com I would probably suggest to go that route. The part that came off was a Delphi. Service history didn't mention any airco compressor so would seem that is the original part.

Replacing the unit wasn't that hard. Getting everything out was a bit hard. Reassembly was just a hour of work. There are some pointers:
  • The rear bolt is a bit of a pain. But there is just enough room to use an allen key with a ball end.
  • You have to get the right o-rings. I was able to source them from a airco service station. The guy said he got them from an Opel/Vauxhall dealer. They were 15 euro for the pair and they are different sizes. I would expect any good aircon specialist be able to supply these.
Dehydrating filter replacement
Apart from the aircon compressor I also wanted to replace the dehydrating filter (as advies by my mobile airco guy). Biggest issue was that I didn't want to spend 200+ euro's on a replacement oem filter. So after I got the filter out I went looking around and found the same filter is fitted to an Opel Astra/Zafira B. And behold, the most expensive replacement filter is 50 euro's. I just ordered a 20 euro one to make sure it fits (HELLA 8FT 351 193-361). Going by pictures and dimensions its exactly the same. You can find the replacement filter on any automotive parts website. I will pick mine up the this monday and put it back in. After that my the mobile aircon service guy will come and check the system, fill oil and gas en I should be good to go.

Total parts costs is around 420 euro and another 100 for the airco service. And some dirty hands and afternoon under the car.
