I have finally got my car back together after rebuilding the front suspension. ( See thread on suspension bushes. ) Before I started working on the car I turned the battery off. Again I didn't turn the battery back on until the brakes had been bled and any disconnected wires reconnected. When I turned the ignition on and ran the engine the ABS and the MSP lights remained on. The MSP symbol on the dash has a line through it and the MSP switch is also illuminated. Finally the car is still on axle stands and I wondered if this could be the cause.

This happened when Donutting on the grass in mine at the Gite in Le Mans. So yeah, drive it on the road and once over 10mph the warnings will disappear. If not then it's something mechanical (or electrical) as I eluded to above.

Whilst I'm waiting to drive my car, ( the wheels are away being refinished at the moment ) I've been thinking some more about these two warning lights. Is it possible that the car knows that the sensors have been disconnected and now it's regarding the sensors as new hardware. Similar to when a computer says "new hardware detected" I'm sure that I turned the battery off before starting work but am beginning to have doubts now. Does this make sense?
