Any experiences moving from GTS to F430?

Evo recently tested F430 with R8 v10 and an early MC12. Ferrari liked best due I guess to the analogue feel in real world road driving.
I think a GTS and F430 would compliment each other if you could afford both.

I have a track session booked for next Friday, to drive a Gallardo, an F430 and a 997 turbo. Just a bit of thrashing about to see if I fancy any of them as a weekend fun car. And I'll go in the GC-MC by way of comparison.

Of these 3, it's the F430 I most interested in as it's the one I've never tried. Fingers crossed it stays dry for the day.

Shall report back in due course.
I'd be interested in your after thoughts on those....keep us posted.

I can't imagine a scenario in which the MC12 would not come out tops there. Never driven one though, pure conjecture.

Bit of a random test.
Unless it was V8 vs V10 vs V12

I almost did that, but got scared of having 2 Italian V8 in my stable and decided to sit a BMW M3 next to the F430... I am starting to regret that decision... the M3 is so boring

Sorry yes that's the one.
Comparison was between "supercars" for well under £100k. The most modern (12C) liked least as it was too capable for the road to engage the driver.

Out of those, it would be the 430 for me. Sitting in a 12C feels very special, and the theatre of the doors, the air brake and the carbon tub are wonderful. But the 430 sounds better and, from what I understand, is more fun to drive.

Plus Maccas prices are still falling.

I drive a 430 and 12c back to back on track and I preferred the 12c. Yes the 430 sounded better but you can get some tasty exhausts for the 12c these days but the McLaren was faster and made me smile more than the Ferrari. I also prefer the interior. I didn't feel the car was cold as some say. It was a Spyder as well which added to the theatre.

What’s the reliability like on the 12C?

Apparently very good, but ruinously expensive in the event that something does pop. One thing that put me off going the Mclaren path is the total lack of an independent service network, and limited chance of using parts from other cars in the way that Alfa, Maserati and Ferrari share some common components.

So you went Aston, who share their parts with....... Mercedes's I guess!!

It’s a mix. Certainly there are some Volvo bits. Quite a few parts (such as lambda sensors) are generic. Helpfully there are some excellent indies, but main dealers like to compete with indie service prices anyway, which is helpful.

At the end I decided to wait a year or so and save up for a 458, 430 just doesn’t seem that much more than my MC Shift GTS that justifies 2.5 times the cost.

Drove 430 and my car back to back , definitely loved the sound of my car more . And overall felt my black on black GTS had better visuals and build quality over f430. However 458 is a whole different story , and whole different price bracket . So time to save and wait .

McLaren is out of questions for me , it feels scientific based than passion and emotions for what I could get in Ferrari or Lamborghini they are expensive here and parts are crazy high too.

Thanks all for the input and great comments.
