Successful remote add to GTS without a dealer

Hi all,
I have been looking all over and tried many local lock Smith to be able to program the remote for my 2011 GTS second key set . No where could do and was told I could only do it at the dealer . Sadly nearest dealer is 700kms away.

However I managed to finally program the new remote ( 2 working remotes now ) for my car using SKP-900 v5.

I bought a spare key ( not OEM but same parts and frequency) from Amazon ($59 , search USARemote Maserati ) , borrowed the SKP-900 from a friend . Easily connected it to the OBD port and followed the instructions , I have the grey card with the code as the device can’t read the code . Under remote match , managed to re introduce the original remote followed by the new one . Now have two fully functional remotes for the car !

So if anyone doesn’t have access to the dealer you can program new remote with the tool . You can also program the transponder if you have an original Maserati pre programmed key .

Happy to answer questions too . This was only tested on one car but thought to share

this is pleasing to hear!
$60 is a sensible amount for a key... but you say the grey keycode card is needed? i sadly dont have that!

Do you know if a dealer would program a 3rd party key?

im guessing your not in the uk??

You can get the card from a dealer, I think. Rather cheaper than the key. Could be wrong however

Might be the one

I purchased a key, delivered cut correctly according to it's code, via Eurospares. About 250 quid? The dealer programmed it for free, or at least, chucked it in free with an otherwise quite expensive service.
