    MC Shift gearbox ECU

If it's the place I'm thinking of then they are utter crooks. We're not that far away and I'd be happy to try and fit you in if you want a second opinion.

    SKYHOOK U1706 FAULT CODE

It's not a quirk of the Launch. When you do a global scan with any diagnostic tool, all modules are connected to and read for errors. When the NFR (ABS) module is communicating with a diagnostic tool it disconnects from the CAN. Other modules that are expecting to talk to the NFR register an...

    QP5 Project

I have a 2007 QP5 in right now that is going to be sold by the owner as-is. She (a spritely lady in her 70's) inherited it from her late husband after he suddenly passed away. The car had been sitting for some time whilst the estate was sorted out and then she recently tried to MOT it. The...

Park off when driving and EPB

The park-off warning can be triggered by any number of events being broadcast onto the CAN line. The easiest thing to do is sniff the CAN and see what is being talked about when the park-off message pops up.

    Next step: SportsItalia.co.uk

Good luck with this - here at AV we are wishing you all the best. I see you are currently running VAT free. People should book in work now as running under the VAT threshold cannot last and won't be repeated.

Help with storage and or insurance

Their insurance will cover instances where they have been negligent in caring for the car. It won't cover all eventualities. Find a storage place that will add the car to their road risks policy. We cover customers cars for something like £1 extra a day (depending on the value).

    Hill Engineering split nut

Hill made them at my request - I simply couldn't wait for the group buy to get going as I had a ton of cars queued up waiting for them. I had Hill manufacture them in a slightly different way to the forum ones which halved the end cost. The great thing about having a proper company make them...

How poor is the Italians at rust prevention?

Rust is the biggest enemy of cars on this platform. The e-coating on the subframes in particular is terrible.

    Rusty bits

They are covers for the brake and fuel pipes so that they don't get damaged if the car is jacked up in the wrong place. They are always rusting and are super cheap - I carry stock to replace at service. If that's the only thing rusting on your car then you're doing well.
