Insurance settlement values - outcome from recent FCA review of practices of insurers representing 70% of the market

If you haven't seen you might find Findings of multi-firm review into insurers' valuation of vehicles an interesting skim. States what the FCA expect of motor insurers in the light of the recently introduced 'Consumer Duty' when they are arriving at settlement values for total loss claims...

    Pre purchase stupid questions

Most of these are answered by searching here - which might mean you won't get a lot of responses. Others may be along soon who can answer more than me - but I think the below is right... Variators - I think @dickygrace answered your question on Facebook with the engine number you need watch out...

West of England and South Wales Events - General Information for Events in the Area

I'll express interest given I live in the West, but 2 hours away for a run-out is possibly a stretch. If anyone fancied something in the Malvern Hills (NB the cafe at the Morgan factory isn't bad), the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) or nearer Shropshire it would be easier to...

    Podcast on Maserati

Bit out of date but I found last night that Peter Charters, General Manager of Maserati North Europe was interviewed on the Car Chat podcast back in June 2023: https://shows.acast.com/carchat/episodes/174-maserati...

    MASTERS OF MOTORING - 1 & 2 June 2024

I could be tempted by that. Know nothing about it, but looks like it could be an interesting event.

Adaptive light control unavailable and failed headlight

Thread resurrection as I have now got this error. Had noticed increased condensation in the headlight over recent months and looks like it has now succumbed, unfortunately. Hopefully it is just the ballast. Not being as handy as @Sprout I'll be taking it to someone else to fix.

SW and Wales spring drive out April 7th 2019

I could also be up for this - bit of a drive from Shropshire - but could be fun.

I'd like to buy a Strad. Anyone selling a decent one for a good price

And if it sells for the advertised price, had some pretty reasonably priced fun. Add 12k miles in 18 months and only c.£5k depreciation would be a good result - or maybe what you would hope for with a good Stradale...

I'd like to buy a Strad. Anyone selling a decent one for a good price

I see there is what appears to be a genuine Centennial Stradale just appeared in my search on Autotrader: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202311284369924 Something seems slightly off though, as the mileage is quoted as 41,800, yet the mileage on the instrument binnacle in the pictures...

    First car...how much?!

Church's have unfortunately had an attack of Prada-itis - Prada have owned them for some considerable time, but in the last couple of years seem to have had a lot more influence on prices and styles (vastly over-priced training shoes etc. in the Church's window displays).

    Tired of this weather

If I did that, living approximately on the Welsh border, I would never get to use mine. The combination of only getting to drive it on weekends and requiring good weather would be near impossible!
