The parts are not too expensive, they do come come as a kit for each side, as you guys said, but the bulk of the charge is labour cost- apparently it is quite an intensive and time consuming job

Sorry can't help, but would love to know the answer as well! Fwiw, I replaced my lotus with a Bosch battery years ago and never had issues after, even without a conditioner. I think they come with a standard 5 year warranty as well
Unbelievable, I just thought that you had to open it from the dash or the key, meaning my switch has never worked from the boot since I got the car! I'll have to get someone more handy than me to take a look at it, thanks for the heads up!
