Just a update, Maserati Alarm ECU is missing seems the previous owner bypass fitted a cobra 8185 alarm immobiliser with a touch key system which also allowed all remote operations of doors and boot. This too has a battery backup siren. I believe it's all packed up so got a wiring diagram...
There was 1 blue key with a loose blade so got a duplicate one put transponder chip into new key. The cobra fob works with 2 buttons boot release alarm/door lock/unlocked. The car wouldn't start without the transponder key.
Have a cobra alarm immobiliser fitted when I purchased car not sure if originally installed or afterwards.
The only keyfob which I had has stopped working so am looking at options of getting a new alarm system fitted.
Hi, I too have a similar situation with my 4200 spyder. I need additional 2 clones of my current key transponder. I have one original key which needs repair and a chip and a already cut key which too needs a chip.
Got mine fixed as it never worked but too be honest it's still never been 100%. Everytime I use it it's doing something new. I haven't even used it 3 times after repair feel like I should have a word with the repairer. I will follow up on your heads up too.
