A few of us on here like a little French car

Narrower at the rear if that counts too. Our D Special is a bit tired and needs 2nd gear for Shap.

Driving near Marlborough just now and saw a yellow Alpine A110 coming towards me - closer and it had “Police” on the bonnet and the rest in blue/yellow. Wilts plods are in special measures and have stiffed us with >5% increase in our local tax so who is paying for this?

What have you done to your Maserati today?

Back from a 1000mile round trip to North Britain. Rain then sunshine! Spyder roof up and down several times with no latch glitches - suspect the sun’s heat (Fife, Scotland!!!) Back with plain bread and square sausage….

Spyder Capote Rear Screw Latches - Opening Timing?

Tried that (beware that the screw latch is locked with a hidden grub screw) but a turn or two either way made no difference. More and then there’d be a gap; less and no microswitch contact. I think more or faster turning by the latch motor ( thinner grease?)

My machining colleague talks about a Lotus 23 powered with 6 Ariel 250 twin engines (Rotorvic). When he worked as a classic restorer (they had the 23 chassis n body rebuild stuff) they ran this at Goodwood and other places. A bu*ger to set timing and the throttle linkages:

    Spyder Alternative?

Well it’s a bit of a joke in the family as our family names are Ashton & Martin. The family nursery business has the initials AML predating the car company.

Spyder Capote Rear Screw Latches - Opening Timing?

On one side the screw latch will often not be fully released on opening - closes down just fine. I have stripped, cleaned and re-greased the locking motor gearbox and even with Matt’s recent greasing it usually takes a couple of open/close cycles to release the screw from the latch. That side...

    Spyder Alternative?

After trying and giving up on Jaguarforums.com we are truly blessed here on SM with no really, really annoying pop-ups, floating ads and other screen clutter and cr*p so beloved of other sites like theirs.

Worked for a company with GM connections. Our company cars were all Vauxhalls and were turned over v quickly after miles or short dates, presumably for easy resale, though what they did with one of ours with a firework burn on the roof remains a mystery….
