This also happens whenever a module has dropped. All the modules talk to eachother, if ones lost communication it causes the dash mileage to flash. Try a battery reset first.

Purge valve

If you’re hearing a ticking intermittently it could be the purge valve. Drivers side near the brake reservoir. Put your ear to that area and see if it’s obviously louder around there.

in my opinion, I’d go for the FF. It’s practical for every occasion and absolutely flys. With a little exhaust mod you really unleash the V12 sound. I’ve only had odd things here and there go wrong on the ones I’ve repaired, nothing extreme and the servicing side is nice and easy, not too costly.

the quality of mclarens are absolutely appalling Ive had engines out of 650's and worked on 720's etc. the centre consoles of the 12c/650's are CARDBOARD wrapped in a thin skin of leather. held together by hot glue and polystyrene. The only ones i think are fairly decent and havent had too many...

You dont even have to do that. jack the car up, remove the front undertray and get your hands up there. Bit fiddly but can be done
