Maserati 4200 REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS Part Number: 200241 for sale, pair for $500

Eurospares (and others in Uk) offer a skyhook replacement for 2004 Coupe (part numbers 197641 for front and 197912 for rear). Not cheap at around £1,550 a pair plus bushes etc that you may need. There are also the FD and KW coil-over alternatives but these would also involve deactivating skyhook.

    Maserati Spares NL

I checked to see if they have the almost impossible to find rear upper control arms for 4200. They show them as available at 900 Euro, which does make me wonder if they are new? Only new ones I found were at double that price, or more.

Alternative parts, what everyone needs to know...

Yep - replaced mine as well. Not worth cutting corners so need the bearings and flywheel. From a cost perspective I would have thought you avoid paying VAT but pay your local duty and taxes instead (that’s situation in Australia).

4200 CC Coupe upper rear control arms

There are several aftermarket options for the bushes including “superformance” in uk. However, based on my experience most likely cause of the clunks is worn ball joints which means replacing the control arm ☹️

4200 CC Coupe upper rear control arms

Afraid not - only choice is to inject ball joint if they haven’t gone beyond repair or replace the whole control arm. I did the latter using Eurospares pattern parts.

    Making My Own Control Arms

At second attempt I located two good quality second hand units from a low kms car. First try produced two that were already well past their best - bit disappointing as organisation that supplied them should have known better. I could feel the play without fitting rhem.

    Making My Own Control Arms

Thank you - I’ve always liked the 4200 and do think it will become a classic. Car is 17 years old but will always be a classic and stylish design.

    Making My Own Control Arms

It's January 2021 - almost a year on from my spur of the moment purchase of 2004 CambioCorsa Coupe and as of today its finally registered and on the road. The engine support pads still need replacing but now have the parts so that will be out of way in next couple of weeks - what a marathon it...

    4200 Coupe reversing camera

Has anyone fitted a reversing camera to a 4200 coupe, and if so what did you use? I've got the sensors but would prefer to have a camera as well.

    Anyone know this car? Auction

Looks a well cared for car and love the interior colour - not a fan of the ugly rear lights. Based on my personal experience the current mileage could be about the point it is up for a second replacement of clutch, control arms etc.....

Maserati 4200 Cambiocorsa / spider reverse gear selector lose

I had the same problem so fitted the Hills part to my 2004 Cambiocorsa Coupe. Very easy to fit and works well. That said you could probably print one in a modern plastic that would do the job just as well.

4200 CC Coupe upper rear control arms

Yep - sure am; it was spur of moment purchase at auction earlier this year. I expected some of traditional issues but got the jackpot including control arms exhaust and new clutch!

4200 CC Coupe upper rear control arms

The injection process is direct into BJ assembly so wishbone shouldn’t be affected. To be successful need to catch it before it has reached metal on metal stage.

4200 CC Coupe upper rear control arms

The first pair of used uppers I purchased were clearly worn as I could feel the play. I sent them for injection (Brisbane in Aus) and one came back good but whole BJ assembly started to come out of the aluminium casting on the second one. The guys who did the work have successfully done Maserati...
