    Very interesting - thanks

Newly manufactured part availability: Biturbo V6 oil sump 470010900 / 310420302

Thank you all for the kind words. In fact, I broke my 2.24v's pan on exit from the restaurant at the Biturbo 40th anniversary - luckily with no engine damage! The sump's early demise set this thing in motion :)

Newly manufactured part availability: Biturbo V6 oil sump 470010900 / 310420302

Good afternoon. We're happy to announce the successful reproduction an elusive Maserati Biturbo component. This time, it's the oil sump pan, designed to mirror the original unit. The inspiration for this project came after an unfortunate incident at the Biturbo 40th anniversary last year when...

    Classiche Certification

Having dealt with the guys at Maserati Classiche in the past, I can confirm that they are indeed extremely helpful and passionate. Also, the certification process costing 1500 EU, which I believe applies to the Biturbo family only (3200 included from what I see) is a bargain IMHO.

    Gearbox oil

I have never been keen on additives, which I have always considered snake oil. Anyway, as the main bearing on my 2.24v was rather noisy, I listened to the advice of a fellow Biturbo owner and I dropped some Sintoflon Gearlube in it. In my case, it worked very well. The reduction in noise was not...

    Biturbo's slow wipers..

Henry, thank you for the compliments on the Biturbox. I'm sorry for the unsoldered pin. I do them by hand one by one and I try to do it very carefully, and one must have gone missing. How did you find that out? The horn relay is tested twice as part of the post production check procedure. Was it...

New Biturbo specific relay with fuse available

Hi. After the Biturbox, we have been able to replicate the old Italamec 609 fused relay. Such parts is pin to pin compatible with the unusual pinout of its Italamec predecessor. Designed for engine compartment temperature range: -40/+125°C Read all about it here...

User manual page for Spyder 89 engine compartment relay

Yes, I suggested to the owner of the car to try to see which relay was corresponding to what function, first, by unplugging them. In any case, it looks like they are all specified as 16A. Thank you

User manual page for Spyder 89 engine compartment relay

Hello. Can anyone be so kind, if possible, to post a snapshot of the manual page, for a spyder 90 2.8l, that details the function, and the correct fuse value, for the relays in the engine compartment? Thanks in advance.

    Biturbo's slow wipers..

Having read this thread with interest, I would like to add some comments. The original fuse box major flaw is mechanical rather than electrical. I mean, without even starting a discussion on torpedo fuses, and PCB routes dimensioning, the board is built around male tabs (or females, for relays)...

    Too good to drive?

A friend of mine did a complete restoration of his 1966 Buick Riviera Gran Sport. I mean, he did a complete fabulous restoration - he turned his car in what was probably the best one in the world. This is what he wrote me after selling it: "Everyone thinks I regret selling the 66 but there has...

    How I fixed electrical gremlins..

Unfortunately I haven't studied the post 1994 fuse boxes. For the moment we don't have any plans to look into that. We are developing the proper replacement for the Italamec fused relays, but I don't think they were used on the late cars either.

    Electric Conversion - Would You?

I wouldn't convert a classic car into an electric one. A Classic car is the whole package of noise, age, smell (is it me or do all the Biturbos smell the same?), lack of perfection by todays' standards. For me, the AM475 of my 2.24v is at the center of the experience. Same for my 1982 RX-7...
