I have a 2005 4200 Spyder that apparently isn't ULEZ compliant. TFL says it needs to be Euro 4 or later so I assume mine is Euro 3?
Obvious question - what sort of a job is it to make it compliant? Do I need to sell my house or can I do it in 2 mins with a hammer?
I read somewhere that although not sold as separate items on the 4200/Gransport they are sold separately for the 4.2 QP. Any ideas as to which model I should check - a 2005 QP with 4.2 - any variation?
Thanks. I do have an undertray and you’re right, the coolant has puddled on the tray. I don’t have pressure pump, ramp etc - should I take this to my Maser specialist (a long way!) or could a local garage check/repair?
I noticed a leak of a few blue spots on the garage floor a couple of weeks ago and topped up the coolant. It only needed a tiny top up and after driving 150 miles I checked again and the tank was fine
However after a longish drive yesterday I noticed some blue drips on the garage floor this...
Thanks - I’ve found/bought the left hand pump already as expecting a problem. But I’m puzzled as Maserati and all the forums/advice says that the 4200s are fine with E10 fuel. And apart from the odd occasion, I always use E5. But interesting- I’ve kept the old one so will examine it and try and...
For anyone interested, Sam at Stradale Italia in Uttoxeter (where I left my 4200 Spyder after breaking down) discovered the right hand fuel pump was broken. It was only delivering half a bar of fuel pressure rather than 4 bars (I think he said). So only 4 cylinders working and a bunch of lights...
Thanks everyone. Sam at Stradale Italia in Uttoxeter says the smell of unburnt petrol and limp mode suggests a coil has gone. Will do full check on Tuesday but game over for our maser trip!
We’re on our way back south to pick up our old merc for our Maserati tour. Got to get up to Yorkshire...
Setting off today for the start of a 2 week driving tour of Scotland organised by the UK Maserati club and my 26,000 mile 2005 car stopped on the M1 After 4 hours driving. It’s been a hot day and we’d been crawling but the orange engine light came on, along with a message in red saying ‘Slow...
I've just realised that following a full valet of my 2005 Spyder, a bit of chrome trim on the ashtray must have disappeared up his vacuum cleaner. I didn't notice at the time but just spotted it - annoying but not life threatening (I hope).
Any ideas as to where/how I can get a replacement...
All good but it isn’t a steady drip that you’d expect with condensation on on cold AC pipe. It seems like an accumulation of water somewhere that suddenly gets released, perhaps with a bump or similar.
