Cheshire is obviously well versed in the engine limitations of the M96 engines fitted to the early watercooled cars. I would just caveat that the earlier 986 Boxster cars (2.5, 2.7 and 3.2) engines are significantly less prone to bore scoring that that of the larger 3.4, 3.6 and 3.8 (the...
Different generations have specific engine foibles, the 986 model suffered from intermediate shaft bearing failure (terminal and instant engine destruction) but thankfully is quite rare. The 987 engines suffered from bore scoring (much more common, especially on the 3.4 engines) then the latter...
Love these old tanks. I had a similar age 3.2 v6 a few years back, felt indestructable and was a great family car. That is a very unusual manual box car. Will make it easier to give the engine a better work out (which it does need to get a shift on). They sound great too!

Very honest advert and if this was for sale in 3 months time I would be biting your arm off! (Darn house renovations)
Funnily enough I was close to buying this from the Supercar rooms when you snapped it up a few years back. Silver with black leather looks great in my eyes.
I don't think I've heard of a hydrolocked 997 engine, certainly not a common issue. The usual problems are the IMS failure (pre 2007 model year mainly) and bore scoring (all gen 1 997 engines but especially bad in the 3.8). Occasionally they can snap a cam chain but that is also thankfully...
Hartech are the best respected Porsche engine builder in the market currently. They deal with numerous 996 / 997 rebuilds on a daily basis! There is nothing they don't know about those engines.
Infact they rebuilt my engine when it went 'pop' due to IMS failure a few years back.
Good show gents, the Massers certainly made a much better sound than the majority of the 'parade' cars out there today. Nice to see you guys enjoying yourselves.
