    I remember before I bought my 1984 911 there were all sorts of major problems that could go wrong ie engine rebuild, but most of the problems I did have were electrics... Ive also read sensors can be a problem?

    Yes, I agree with your comment about Porsches they are two a penny, which is what has put me off owning another and not to mention their inflated prices compared to the Italian stuff!
