I was planning on sending it to Autofficina simply because they're local, they sold it to me, and they're happy to come and pick it up! My slight hope is that in a couple of months it's not sold and somehow I can find some space and money not to sell it after all (but I think that unlikely)...

I can recommend that how-to above. I did it myself before Christmas, having had exactly the same symptoms, and it fixed it entirely for me. It wasn't that hard to do either. Worth trying certainly in my view. 12 years worth of gunk and old grease now replaced with new clean grease and all is fine.

They do - I had a Tesla for 4 years and they lose between 2 and 10 miles of range every day (depending on how the car is configured and how much the computers wake up and do things while the car is idle). Eventualy it will run out and need someone to boost it before it can move again.

Hi Matt - I'm around, and do pop in occasionally, virtually speaking that is. Not sure I can stretch to Le Mans, but I do need to get the GS out more than I do. I'm doing <1000 miles a year in her at the moment (the rest being done in an E39 M5 and E46 M3 which I mention for Andy's benefit!)...

What a lot of locals! I live right between the Crooked Billet and the Fox and Grapes. A meet up (or drive out) would be the excuse I need to get the GranSport out of the garage again.

I live very close to Wimbledon Common and as it happens spotted a rather nice dark grey (?) Stradale just the other day - was that the one? No idea who owns it but it was a lovely looking car.
