Good news loz - Mine also passed with no advisories the other week.. the chap at Meridien was as surprised as me! although I have spent the year sorting her out.

To be honest I keep mine for 2-3 years and then upgrade.. although I do still have one old Vaio which is 6 years old - pretty slow now but no other probs..

I use Sony Vaio, well made and not as clunky as some, you pay a bit more but we're all used to that on here! If you don't want to spend as much then go for an Acer - just make sure it's running Windows 7 (64 bit) and have 4GB (ideally 6) of RAM or more...

Did I read somewhere that greengripper brake pads are ok to use on the 4200?

Not to worry - Turns out my local dealership will provide and fit for about £60 less than the tyre company!

Thanks for the links.. In terms of fitting the tyres I have access to a very good (free) mobile fitting service where I work - I haven't spoke to them yet but are they any 'special' considerations I need to make a fitter aware of??

Yeah think I'll try a reset - local garage said it was a common problem (heard that a few times now!).. Did have a few people in the back recently.. didn't realise that could cause a problem?

Hi, Need to start sorting a few bits out on the car ready for the MOT next March.. first things first, looks like I'll need new tyres all around.. Think I'm running Falken 235/40zr's (front) and Falken 265/35zr's (rear) - anyone know of any good offers?

Have been looking for a garage but they cost quite a bit around here. Ha! well even the 4200 can look a little like xmas.. think I'm currently displaying red, orange and green lights :) The one place I need light is the place I don't have any - darn clock!
