    Many USA owners on SM

Well Mazzer Gang....I just got into another Quattroporte, my 3rd one over the last 10 years or so. She's a 2012 Quattroporte-S in Oceano Blu with Cuoio interior and it is just stunning. It needs some tender loving care and I'm looking forward it :)

Dry Sump = all 4.2 liter engines from year 2005 through year 2007 mated to the duo-select transmission (red and blue cam covers). Wet Sump = from year 2007 and later, all 4.2 liter and 4.7 liter engines mated to the ZF automatic transmission (red and blue cam covers).

Rear Bumper - Trapped Dirt = Corrosion?

Is it possible that the bubbling areas were subjected to some kind of corrosive substance / chemical? Something nasty that was washed down the boot rain channel or something leaked out of a container as it was being put into / removed from the boot?

    Variators

Hello Keano....the total cost for your variator job back in 2015 was only 400 Pounds?

    Quattroporte GTS

Yes...that's the guy. This is a rare Sport-GTS with the Skyhook suspension.

    Quattroporte GTS

Yes that white/brown QP-Sport-GTS is a couple of hundred miles away from me. My wife who just loves the look of it, and I think it's a good buy considering the low miles and condition. I've looked at quite a few Sport-GTS cars, and I'd say there is about a 50/50 ratio between the standard...

Rear Bumper - Trapped Dirt = Corrosion?

Just a follow-up...as it turns out, there is no contact between the bottom edge of the boot lid and the trim piece. There is a gap between the two of about 3mm or so.

    Clicking noise on weight transfer

Did you have the entire rear up off the ground as you were re-torquing the wheels? So when either of the wheels was rotating, you heard the noise? Does it matter which direction the wheel is rotating? The noise occurs when driving off in a straight line - not around a corner?

What shape will the car industry be in after all this?

As one who has worked in the automotive supplier world for 40 years, I see things becoming even more dog-eat-dog than before. The work force is already seen as a commodity, which becomes painfully apparent when the only reason for existing is profit for a at the top. Maybe I'm just getting...

Rear Bumper - Trapped Dirt = Corrosion?

After viewing your pictures, I went out to the garage and looked at my 2013 QP-S...and although I do not have any bubbling or anything, it is apparent that on the right side of the car (facing towards the front) there is evidence of contact between the boot lid and that trim piece. The bottom...

Dale at Prestige Repairing My Variators

I've seen various methods used to "lock"cams in place. When I did the timing belts on an older Audi, the engine had to be a top-dead-center, and then a cam locking bar bolted in place - pins in the bar engaged holes in the cam shaft. When doing belts on the Ferrari flat-12 engine, I made some...

    Are you worried yet.

Our company supplies Ford and Peugeot-Fiat-Chrysler-Dodge, and we've just heard the these two giant automakers will be shutting down until at least the end of the March. I read this in a news publication, and yet no official communication was sent out to the suppliers...now nice! Contigo in...

Cold start noise. New member with GranTurismo S

There was a member on the ML forum who had an occasional cold-start rattle. They installed a pre-oiler system on a 4.2 wet sump car and never heard another noise from the engine. I think they spent around $1,000 dollars for all of the parts. I've also heard that if you drive like a little old...

If the USA does develop a vaccine, we will make sure we get credit for it, and be sure to take pictures of the vaccine being administered to show our humble generosity. I do love my country, but I also feel it's important to hear other's perceptions, just to keep things in perspective.

    Are you worried yet.

I just skipped over everything and popped onto this latest post on this thread - Brilliant summary Stindig...!!! I would love to hear your summary of the USA...for certain it will be different than our own self-evaluation... Now I'll have to read through the previous comments...
