Ghibli II 2.8 ABS replacing ECU

So today I managed to find time and motivation to connect my diagnostic tool to my Ghibli. And I got 1+2 blinks, so Cam Sensor issue on the right cable. Yeah... but what means the right cable... I hope it means the right side but when the cable is turned around... it is left... :D :D So...

Ghibli II 2.8 ABS replacing ECU

Well, I did not find time/motivation to look at the issue so far. But I decided to simply buy the AG 25640 diagnostic tool, so one of these days I will connect it and let's see what it will tell me. So for those ones of you around Brussels, I have the diagnostic to at home and in case you...

Ghibli II 2.8 ABS replacing ECU

So you actually did build the tester from these diagrams? And did you ever connect the machine? I am very curious to know if it really works and if you can reset the ECU as described in the manual. Perhaps I should really built it myself, as you are saying it could point me to the source...

Ghibli II 2.8 ABS replacing ECU

Well, at Valenti they have changed both the lambda sensors, so I guess they will be fine. If Valenti is correct and there is a problem with my (left side) knock sensor signal, and it has to be changed I am not sure if I could do that myself (or trust myself doing this properly), as they are...

Ghibli II 2.8 ABS replacing ECU

Hi there, I have noticed that your Ghibli Cup has been spotted in Waterloo (autogespot.nl) and yep that is more or less next door. I am living at the beginning of the Forest (so Uccle). Getting the ECU was an easy one, but solving the issue is another thing :-)) At Valenti they told me...

Ghibli II 2.8 ABS replacing ECU

Oh my... I have all this stupid stuff, I guess because my Ghibli hasn't been used for many year before I bought her... Because of the ECU issue i need to go back to the specialist, so today I decided to take her for a spin... Well, not... complete lack of power under load... if there is just a...

Ghibli II 2.8 ABS replacing ECU

Ok, thank you, good to hear that the loud sound is normal. I the service manual I noticed that there actually is a procedure for replacing the control units... And as I don't have the SD1 I did not follow the procedure. I really hope that that is why things are not ok right now... But I am...

Ghibli II 2.8 ABS replacing ECU

Hmm... might be normal but I was looking at some Youtube video's and I did not hear the same... perhaps I better make a video and post it myself. Anyway, next to that I have my engine warning light burning even without firing up the engine. (yes yes, first on... after off and back on again, and...

Ghibli II 2.8 ABS replacing ECU

Thanks guys. So I did... but problem still the same. Very strange as Officina Valenti diagnosed that the left ECU must be broke because it does not get the knock-sensor signal. I remember that they told me they swapped the left and right one to confirm their diagnose. So, when they replaced...

Ghibli II 2.8 ABS replacing ECU

Ghibli 2.8L ABS engine warning light pops on
