I got impatient and figured it out! Push up from the pointy part opposite of the button side and it comes off.

Hi All, Anyone know how to remove the insert (wood, CF, piano black, etc) from the shift knob (for any of the automatica cars). According to the parts diagram above they do come off. Just not sure if they pull straight up, slide out the back, or what. I've done some light prying with no...
