My nearside one is apparently shot and needs replacing. Anyone have any source for these. Maserati fitted price is £1660 (Plus Vat I'm sure).
Any suggestions gratefully received.

As far as I know there are no known specialists that can refurb skyhook shocks. I’m in a similar situation (2010 GT) as we believe a couple of mine are no longer fit for purpose. Grateful for any suggestions.

And it’s best not to replace just one. You need to do this in axel pairs.
That's one of my pet hates in the Motortrade is that you can buy one shocker and one spring but brake discs always sold in pairs.
Absolute Madness.
Here in France they test the suspension on a special test bed as part of the MOT equivalent which is for 2 years and it tells you how efficient your suspension is.
When I was testing in the UK it was just bounce each corner to see what the reaction was and all down to the testers discretion.

When I was in New Zealand I had my rears rebuilt.
They were stripped bodies machined with new tops made so that they could be stripped and rebuilt numerous times.
The guy who did them was a specialist in suspension for the likes of Ohlins and his background was originally motorcycles.
Both Maserati and Ferrari used him and his turnaround was pretty quick back then in 2015 it was £600 for the pair.
There must be someone capable of doing it in the UK.

Have asked around, nobody appear to want to touch them sadly. Specialists like AV don’t know of anyone either.

Decided to buy a new shox, not two at that price. I understand changing brakes in pairs but not convinced you have to take a perfectly functioning shox off and throw it away just because you changed one the other side.

How did they diagnose one was faulty?

Shock absorbers wear (mainly oil degradation) and their reaction to bump and rebound changes significantly over miles covered, hence the recommendation to change in axle pairs.

On an episode of 'Wheeler Dealers' Mike Brewer got some shocks rebuilt by some guy in a backstreet workshop, sorry, can't remember precise details but at the time thought 'this could be useful'
