Normal day for me:
  • finish writing fund-raising quiz for church/community hall (tomorrow)
  • get 'table rounds' and answer sheets for quiz printed
  • collect and stash booze for quiz
  • buy ingredients for food for quiz
  • rent PA system for quiz
  • find new boiler engineer to fix hall boiler, as yesterday's man was utterly useless
  • check dangerous gravestones in churchyard and tell parish council to fix them
  • discuss with vicar whey we will not be paying our 'parish share' next year
  • cook 'Thanksgiving' lunch for American wife and her family
oh, and try to do my two actual jobs!

Morning, all and Happy Turkey Day to all who celebrate. The wife is of American Indian extraction and my father was born in Italy, so colonization is alive and well, locally. Relatively certain our blankets are smallpox-free, at least.

Knock on the door last night around 21:00...gent asking if we had lost a dog, as he had heard from neighbors that we had GSDs...and he had found one. Well, we hadn't...but he had a french bulldog pup and a one-year-old child, so he couldn't keep her, so we brought her in. When he had found her wandering, they took her to the vet nearby...no collar, no chip. Got a work-up, vaccines, and a bath. Apparently heartworm positive.

So far getting along with The Others...

Hope all are well, safe, and healthy!

And here she is, Lass. Five years old - bit nervous after a long trip from Ireland but conked out just like the other two.

Hello everyone!

In Sheffield today at a conference. It's taking place in the "Cutlers' Hall" which is the guild for the steelwork masters. They forgot to provide the cutlery at lunch time yesterday! :eek:D
Fascinating morning so far - I shared the hotel sauna with the head physio for the Isle of Man TT and we had a good chatter.

Hopefully won't leave here too late as I'll need to swing by Brum to collect my brother on the way back to Oxford ready for my stag do tomorrow.

HapPea Friday! xXx

Happy Friday and good afternoon to all. Slow start to day...besides being an inveterate nightowl, am still apparently in recovery mode.

The 8 and 12 yo female children return at 15:00...and we get the 18 yo tomorrow. So things will be boisterous and expensive for a few days. Roasting a Thor's hammer since earlier this morning...slooooowly. About like the rest of me at the moment.

Has the US lost to you all yet...?
