Autocar reporting the bit we already knew.. they are stopping making 2 saloons. Instead they will make only the QP though probably more similar to the Ghibli in size.
The thing I didn't know was it is on electric form only.
Keeping mine as long as possible now!

I think Autocar are wrong on price, I think it will start around the £100,000 point rising to £120 with options. This will allow it to take on the Taycan and E tron GT.
Given that, it made sense to switch when I did, as it would be out of my budget, with the only other possibility being the 4 door Lotus Coupe due in the next year or two, but I suspect that is going to be similar in price, and if their forthcoming SUV is anything to go by, well above 5 metres in length, although I am inclined to think they may want to keep the size closer to the Porsche and Audi.
It's a shame Maserati are repositioning themselves and coming away completely from the executive saloon market. Whilst I know everything is SUV these days, there is precious little in the sector the Ghibli occupied if you dont want one of the usual German brands, and if you want EV there is only the Merc EQE, or the Genesis E G80 that I went with.
I also read when Jaguar relaunch themselves in 2025 as EV only, they too are dropping saloons and will start with a Crossover, also above the £100k mark. They really used to be the only alternative if you didn't want one of the usual BMW/Mercedes/Audi 4 doors.
Whilst I think the general hike in prices, whilst partly down to the EV and battery tech, is also part of manufacturer's tapping into the always 'super rich' as everyone else is being effected by the economic conditions, which the very wealthy are almost immune to.

In my eyes they are discontinuing the QP (size wise), just changing the name of the Ghibli back to QP..!

This is what I've heard as well. From memory the current Ghibli is pretty much the same size as the QPV. Personally I'd not want anything any bigger

Gibber 4971mm to 4974mm
QPV (Classic) 5052mm
QPV face lift 5097mm
QPVI 5262mm

QPV is right - big enough to have that presence, but not stupidly big like the QPVI!

The automotive sector has had massive margin expansion over the last 25 years. Post supply returning to normal in the next couple of years it will be interesting to see how customers respond to the huge price rises being put through currently. I would not bet on the manufacturers winning this battle.
