Haven't you just had a cage and harnesses put in that though?
Correct. I bought all the equipment in the Spring of 2021, and Matt installed it (very professionally) last November.
I‘ve used the car twice since then, for trips to Twickenham for the rugby.
But I could forsee myself using it less and less and decided I didn’t want any more cars in storage.

Plus I have the Ineos Grenadier arriving later this summer, and am in the throws of ordering a new Alpine A110. But these are both daily cars to live outside, so more immediately useable.

Two crucial questions, Ewan:
  1. What are your thoughts on the 110?
  2. Will your Strad resurface on the forum?

Two crucial questions, Ewan:
  1. What are your thoughts on the 110?

  1. The roads that I drive regularly are narrow, bumpy rural ones. The 110 takes these in its stride unlike any other sports car. The Strad jumps, bucks and strains, as it’s heavy and stiff, while the Alpine seems to glide over and go with the flow. Wide, fast, sweeping A roads is what the Strad likes, and I don’t have those where I live. So I’m thinking I’ll get more use out of an A110 than I did the Strad. Depreciation is next to zero on both cars, though obviously the running costs of the Alpine are lower, and it’ll be under the manufactures warranty. The down side? I won’t sound like the Strad!
  2. I don’t think so, but I’ll mention it to the new owner.

Dare I ask, what is the Stradale entry point price wise now?

For say a usable car in Good condition with higher than average miles? Not collector or concours etc.

Asking for a friend! (me)

I have my Z3M Coupe that one day I want to trade up from....

Well mine was £42k in May 21 with 58k miles and one owner.
Wow, that sounds amzing.

So £50k ish might not be out of the question, I guess potentially the smart thing to do is wait for the economy to tank a bit more and have a look at the end of the year/early next year.

I guess not. Ones with red calipers are normally cheaper obviously. ;)

An A110 came past me today (I was in a taxi). It looked and sounded great.

So this has dropped 2014 Grey Maserati Granturismo 4.7 V8 MC Stradale MC Shift 2dr EU5 for sale for £55,995 in Alderbury, Salisbury (autotrader.co.uk)

I spoke to the dealer when it was at £59k who told me it hadn't been serviced in nearly 4 years and that was that... As I wanted good provenance... at this price is it worth it?
I've been debating about getting it to my trusted indie to fully inspect and I can ofcourse reject if he spots any major issues
Buy it, service it, thrash it. You'll like it.

The MOT history does seem to support the dealers statement that it has been stored for a number of years... but why not re-mot it for a dodgy wiper blade is beyond me?!?

If I was considering I would be looking at a full re-commission of the car and that would likely come in at a few thousand at a specialist... will that be more than £3k, saving? i'm not sure.
