Control Arm MOT Fail.

Yesterdays MOT flagged 'Fail' for suspension arm ball joint, rear, upper offside. I'm thinking it's 196779 Pt No.
Questions; Do I need to remove the rear subframe completely to remove the pivot bolt when I replace the arm. Is it possible to drop one side?
Brand new replacement ,or useable spare? (although I think i already know the answer to this but just reaching out...).
Thanks in advance for any advice.

you can lower the subframe enough to get the arm off
Thanks for that, although it may be pointless removing the arm anyway, as there seem to be 'NO SPARES' available anywhere, Sorry for shouting but frustration setting in..
Shopping list, so far... Hens teeth, sorted. Rocking Horse Sh1t, on order. Dragons Breath, here by Friday. Maserati Spares... Forget it.

We're working on a solution for this and the first batch of refurbished suspensions is due in next week.
I expect to have it available as a part rather soon.
Are you prepared to sell them to the general public, or are they for your own use? As you can see from my posts I'm in need of a replacement.

Thanks, just viewed it. It's an option but hopefully I may find a better one. The ball joint on that one looks full of crud because the boot is missing, who knows how long it would last.
Would this be the one your after?

The rear uppers are a pig to do and difficult to get hold of. It requires a lot of subframe manipulation and I would not fancy doing without a lift.

While you are in there, change the ARB bushes, one less job you will have to come back to and easy with the subframe moved.

Thanks for the input, I think . I think it will take me a good few hours but considering I can't get a replacement 'off the shelf ' I don't feel as if I'm under pressure. Will definitely consider ARB bushes, do you recommend OEM or Polybush type?

The offending part is now out and ready for replacement. Not too bad a job actually, if Maserati had measured their bolt lengths it would have been done in no time. The biggest problem was removing one of the pivot bolts (rearward most) which fouls on the underbody. I lowered the subframe and it squeezed out. Bring on the replacement.....please.

Can you please clarify which part ARB bushes is?
I'm planning to replace my ball joint dust boots soon and want to gather the other pieces I should replace at the same time. Thanks!

Sound like you are going through a bit of Maserati pain but stick with it, you will get great satisfaction having sorted it yourself and then get to enjoy the car all over again. Good luck and I hope you get the part soon.

Here is the offending item with a collection of shims. I assume they are part of the geometry alignment, that's a lot of shims.
