leggy QPS - what's it worth!?

A close friend of mine has asked me for help valuing his 2010 QP GTS. Nero / Nero / Alcantara, carbon interior. 2 owners from new, he has had it for the last 8 years - bought from Maserati.

Mean dealer services up to 2017 and specialist since, car used daily and has covered ..... 117,000 miles. Always kept in the proper way, just fully serviced including plugs, brake fluid, diff oil as well as the usual items. The nose has just been resprayed as well to remove 117,000 miles of pebble dashing and wheels are off to be refurbished at Lepsons (and wheel nuts replaced!). It drives very well and presents nicely inside and out, albeit with the odd blemish that one would expect from daily use and this mileage.

Really struggling to value it - may be one for CollectingCars and let it find its own value? He is open to offers!

I’d say if it’s really good it may be worth around £20k to someone?

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a 4.7 GT S for sale starting with a ‘1’. So with a nice thick file of history and if there are not a raft of imminent bills due I’d say it should start with a ‘2’.

looks a nice genuine example too, and as we all know Italian cars prefer being driven!

But as you say, difficult to value as many will get hung up on miles even though it’s only 10k/year.
Good luck!

£20k seems a fair figure to achieve so place it at £21500 and expect offers starting around £18k with the view to meet in the middle

Wow, that’s almost a unicorn!
Only 2 green 4.7GTS in uk apparently, a 2010 and a 2011 (presumably this one).

There are a lot of massers on marketplace that I have not seen advertised elsewhere. Private and dealers.

I remember this one from about 3/4 years ago. I think it was sold previously by the Elite Carriage Co, who weren’t great to deal with by the people that went to see them. Despite the rarity I can’t say I was taken by the interior and opted to sit tight. I think it was owned by a Uni professor?

Wow… and there was me thinking I had the leggiest QP GT S in the village. If it’s been looked after and drives well, I’d say ask for more than £20k… I’d take a leggier car (as I did!) any day of the week with good service history (and a good subframe!) over a lower mileage example without those attributes.

At £20k it’s less than half what Giallo are asking for theirs.

what is it worth appreciably less than market rate because someone applied the label "leggy"? An eleven year old car with 10k per year is hardly high miles.
The subframe is the elephant in the room as it appears well cared for in other respects. Guessing it has been driven in all weathers like my own, so if left untreated it will be about ready for a refurbishment.
Personal choice of course, but I prefer a car regularly driven, serviced and MOT checked over something left idle majority of the year. We are all individuals though,

Hello, it is rare to see a well used Maserati and particularly one that has been well looked after.

Being enthusiasts here could you share what work has been done over the years and at what miles? Would be very helpful for other owners to know what is ahead on suspension, engine wear and tear.

I think my interior is pretty much the same as the green car. My car was quite a lot more but not Cat N. That looks like a nice car and CAT N probably isn’t a big deal really.

Looks very well preserved for the mileage. If someone has done their research, and comes round to view, a sport GT S is a very hard car to walk away from. It usually means you’ll have a sale, the classic ‘first to see will buy!’

Good luck and be sure to let us know how he gets on.
