£6k for an ugly Cat D Alfa with over a quarter of a million miles plus the associated wear and tear. The World's gone mad.

GTA prices are going bonkers, mainly driven by 147GTAs but even 156 GTAs are on the up, personally the only one I would look at is a 156 GTA SW but doubt I would be prepared to pay what a good one would cost these days

To be fair, it’s worth nearly that broken for spares these days. Depends how much of a triggers broom it is and would be interesting to see the money no object history file...
Plus, a bit harsh with the ugly tag!

If it is the original engine it is at least an impressive mileage figure on a 1 owner car.

The last busso engine was made in 2005/6 and the factory shut down, could have had a rebuild of course. I ran a 3.0 busso to the mid 150k’s and it was sweet as a nut!

Do you really think a 156 is ugly Ewan. Don’t think I have ever heard anyone call a 156 ugly…..But agree the world has gone mad. I thought the price was step when I saw the mileage and then read it was a Cat D …. Crazy…Will my one really by it at that money ?

I couldn't agree more. Well perhaps not ugly but I've never considered the 156 to be a looker

I am just lost for words. After all these years that is now two that don’t think it’s a looker…WOW….Remeber the first time i saw a picture of the 156 the styling blew me away…It was so
much prettier than the competition. I don’t think what came after improved on it either. Well I have had to sit down in shock :)

Maybe ugly was a bit harsh. Though the back view is not good - the lights are too narrow and the rear valence too bulky. On the upside, the wheels are lovely.

Completely disagree on the ugly bit, I had a Sportwagon for 7 years, the 156 still looks fantastic even today.

I don't think the GTA guise did it any favours. Loved my two (which were SP2 with tea trays, often not well regarded but I thought it was a fantastic balance)

Agreed. I really liked the look of my 156. I didn’t like it’s ability to drain my bank account though, it was horrendously expensive to keep in spare parts.

I loved my 156 Sportwagon, looked great and actually was super reliable. It replaced a GTV and was replaced by a 166 - oh how I miss those days!
