Insulate Britain protests

No time for these idiots and I have a MSc in Renewable Energy - I can bore the pants of anyone in a pub to explain why my V8 GT is better for the planet than a Tesla :)

I love the way the driver's moved them whilst the Police are incapable of doing it - I would do the same. It does make me wonder why they have nothing better to do other than no doubt living off the rest of us.

It's true we need to build better homes and insulate properly but as others have said they are going about this the wrong way by causing more pollution and utter chaos.

Good on you, I don’t, I have a degree in education but still give both barrels to anyone who virtue signals with an EV; or indeed anyone who is brave enough to mention them in my company.

How many of these environmentalists have dipped into their own pocket to save the planet?

This year I'll have spent very tidy sum in ridding my house of gas, inefficient radiators and lagging where I can.

I therefore demand the right to drive my Maserati through their barricade as it's all been offset.
They can choose to get out of the way or not.

There should be a court injunction on the press not to publicise their antics. Without publicity they would stop.

Generally if you touch them you risk a claim of assault as you do not have the powers of a constable, however as this bunch have an injunction against them they are committing an arrestable offence, so in theory you can arrest them and hold them until the police arrive (but that could be for hours and defeat the reason you want them out of your way)
You may have hit the nail on the head when you wrote “not until the police arrive and that could take hours”. Why should it take hours, why are these protesters not being held accountable, arrested and made an example of. They continue doing it because they know there is very little comeback on them. Why should the general public have to take the law into their own hands, there will eventually be a very nasty incident when the police will have to get seriously involved, and will then go on to arrest a member of the public.

We have the same imbeciles up here, against any kind of progress that would benefit the Cumbrian economy, then retire to their bolthole in Ullswater or Windermere when not protesting, ****'em!
