2017 Ghibli - benzina

Long time lurker, I’ve been looking for a petrol Ghibli for a year, missed out on one or two, they’re selling fast. Anyway, would any of you kind people have an opinion on the car in the link?

Although over ‘book’ it’s what they’re going for. It’s not got a lot of spec from what I’ve seen, but it has heated seats, which was the only ’must’. Looks like a nice colour combination to my eyes. There is red one elsewhere for sale at the same miles and price, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a red Ghibli and I have had a red car since my 156 20 years ago.

thanks,

CJR.

I like the light interior against the grey exterior. The add doesn’t say much about the history etc, but mileage is about right so as long as it’s not been in a crash and the history checks out, what’s not to like?

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Thanks Zep, I await a video, dealer says it needs paint on the back bumper that you can’t see in the picture, it was in their workshop today.

it’s a long way away, so will HPI before I travel.

last serviced in October, had one previous service, I think that’s the book schedule for these. With 20’s Ive asked for the tread depths.

I would have sworn that was not a Bronzo Siena, it looks more like a Grigio but it may just be the lighting - the one in the link also doesn’t mention heated seats in the spec. It has got a Sport button which is of course far more important...looks like it doesn’t have steering wheel paddles which the red one does have - the red one also has active cruise control and alu pedals….I must say all things equal I’d go for the red one, but you must check the service history, that’s nearly more important than the spec and mileage.

Thanks Tallman Im not fussed about paddles, I paid for them before and then rarely used them. The heated sets can be seen on the screen of the grey/bronze one, unless that icon is there regardless? Dealer seems to have uploaded the generic base spec.

That red one doesn’t look right in the pictures, Ive never seen a red one on the road, not sure it suits it.

I've a stopgap Volvo (which has managed to appreciate in value) with adaptive cruise and auto pilot steering, so a bit spoilt with that, not sure the adaptive cruise alone is worth it.

I’ve destroyed any metal pedals I’ve had on new cars, I’d imagine they’d be a bit rough on a car this age.

I’d have a petrol Ghib as a daily you know. Just make sure you buy the model with drilled brake discs otherwise you will be having all sorts of issues with wobbly discs.

Thanks, I think this does have the later drilled discs. - were you on 156.net back in the day? Haven’t had an Alfa since 2012.

I’ve had a look and it’s not bronze sienna, dvla say it’s grey and none of the sienna pics on line look anything like it.

Paddles can be retro fitted.
Check the front strut top towers as there were issues with them splitting and cracking which was a major repair to replace.
MOT history should pick up if there were any issues.
Good Luck.

Strut towers were a recall item so should have been done but need checking

Thanks all, I’ve been sent a video, it’s definitely a Grigio of some description, definitely not Siena

Not sure where they've got the car stashed, I drive past Europa every morning as the showroom's just down the road from my office and never seen it!

It only came in a few days ago and in the pics you’ll see damage on the back bumper which they had taken in to the workshop to sort. Be good if you had seen it as it’s 4 1/2 hours away from me and a nightmare if it’s a dud!
