The Biturbos left the US market too soon. There were some fine ones near the end that we never got. Perhaps I would have a better opinion of them if we had gotten these.

Best colour ever on a Ghibli. First time I saw a Ghibli Cup in this colour I was just hooked.

That is rather nice. Get it delivered to Phil's whilst we wait for travel restrictions to be lifted.

Off to buy a lottery ticket.

Andy, I think it was Riviera on the the 968. Similar but Maritime was lighter.

I completely agree. One of the best colours for the ghibli II. :D

Mine is (was?) red and would need a new paint after 25 years of abuse. I contemplated a colour change to blu francia, and finally decided to first test a vinyl wrap to be sure it was the right choice (silly me:as001 (2):), and to help me to swallow the cost of a full paint (I wasn't sure yet).

It's almost done (some details to finish)!

No savings for me this time, the ghibli is fantastic in this shade of blue. I know I will have to paint it in blu francia.
The vinyl reference is "avery gloss intense blue"

Huge price! But very low mileage I suppose.
According to the Maserati Club website, my old blue Cup is still for sale. Seem to recall the asking price is silly though (maybe £65k?), given I paid about £13k for it.

Yes it is, he’s trying to sell it for a frankly ridiculous price. Car is spot on but it’s not worth £65k. I don’t think it’s even worth £50k.

Well, it’s all relative these prices but 60-70K Euros for a LHD Cup with good specs isnt that unreasonable. Real good LHD GT’s sell for 30K these days (real paid price if you are not in a hurry) if it isn’t an ex Japan car. It will be more difficult overtime to find a standard Cup with low mileage and history and sure it will go further up as we have seen with limited editions Integrales etc. Matter of time imo

£65k is €76k and it’s a private sale, done 60k miles. I don’t doubt it’s a stunning car, but the market clearly agree it’s not worth that as it’s been for sale for about 2 years.

Ghibli Cup, or Shamal?
If you had the choice?

Had the choice and went for the Cup. Better driveability, less made and to be honest bump into one which I couldn’t let go. Don’t get me wrong, Shamal is the Uber biturbo in looks and hope to have one at some stage but for sure not the better car out of the Biturbo era. Obviously biased view.

Yep, 60K miles isn’t that low and RHD way less interesting potentially wise. I don’t know why but Masers just don’t get appreciated in price in UK. That’s why lots of LHD offers in UK before brexit ended at this side of the water I think. Although offered Cup will be for sure mint there is something which makes it a bit off - might be the interior colour what mainly is black for Cups. Also seems to miss the Brembo’s. Anyway 76K Euros is probably too high in current market with shown specs otherwise it would have been gone I guess. Its also not the easiest type of cars to sell for good money.

The exhaust system on the Cup is far too low, with the smaller wheels does the Shamal bottom out all the time ?
