Very exciting - but they have to figure out how to bring the excitement that we get from those beautiful Maserati sounds to the electric version

I wonder if “The new Maserati GranTurismo will be the Brand's first car to adopt a100% electric solution.”

means they will only make it electric or they will make ice and an all electric one.

Very excited about this car even if it is all electric. The MC20 is cracking so have no reason to think this will not love a Maserati forward.....That though must surely be a GT mule with a different grill As it is to similar.

I don’t think it is look at the wing mirror/door window. The bonnet is much shorter too.

Really hard to see...That is the point I suppose....but you could be right. MC20 and then this....There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Very exciting!

Looks really promising, and I can’t help but notice that the front lights echo the design seen in the MC20.

Thought I caught a glimpse of that too in the Grecale spy photos …

Would love to see the brand succeed with some competitive products. Such great potential they could capitalise on and the MC20 seems to be well received. I personally am not into any modern high performance motors, too fast and too capable to have fun away from a race track, but would be good to see some growth.

I’m pretty certain they’ve confirmed it’s only going to be electric but it’s not clear from the release.
Modena, 11 June 2021 – The first prototype of the new Maserati GranTurismo was driven out of the Maserati Innovation Lab and was photographed on the streets of Modena.

The new Maserati GranTurismo will be the Brand's first car to adopt a100% electric solution.

I guess that’s the way it is now! I just don’t know where the visceral enjoyment will come from with EVs. I’ve done going fast with 2x 911 turbos and it gets stale pretty quickly

Looks very promising. A GT in the size of the 3200/4200/GranSport rather than the recently discontinued GranTurismo. The bonnet looks a bit short, so a ICE version most likely a V6.

Acceleration is an electric cars forte.

The rest is comparable.
It will have to have range of more than 350 miles.
Charge quickly in less than 30 mins.
Carry 4 people for short trips.
Be able to carry two people with luggage for a week.
Be a driver's car.

I'm sure it's in the translation but without the word 'solution' would it still just be a question? Italian cars and electricity...that normally ends well.

Seriously though, it looks great and I'm glad they are doing it. A BEV is the short to mid-term market so it makes sense. I hardly ever go more than 150 miles a day in mine so electric would be fine. Sure the notion of driving to Lake Como is great and I've done that but not that often.

I was thinking of having the QPV converted to electric. Apparently these people will do it for only about £250,000.
