Would love a DB5 or 6.... right opposite the gate to my middle school in the '70s there was often a dark blue F reg'd DB6 parked on an old boy's drive, it oozed glamour to an impressionable sort like me. About four or five years ago it came up for sale in need of some tlc for £125k.

Can't afford an Aston though so this morning I finally bought my first Maser....!

Yes Dave it is ;)
I hope you didn't buy your first Maser off that old reprobate ;)

Mike's a good mate from the old days, he used to run Corley Motors in the 80s/90s one of the most prolific Maserati resto workshops in the UK at the time!
He did some of the best Maser 3500GT's on the planet

Great photos. I learnt to waterski a long time ago on Windermere. It was always fun dodging the chain on the ferry.
Loved water skiing but probably would hurt me know.
The last boat I bought and the most expensive for me was a Four Winns 180 Horizon with a V6 fuel injected Volvo Penta bought from Windermere when they introduced the 4 mph speed limit on the Lake and lots of boats became available.
Had it for 5 years and lost nothing on it.

My first one was a 14 footer with a Mercury 80HP the second a 16ft with a 140HP Suzuki and the last a 225HP sounded Great full chat.
Learnt to Ski behind a Zodiac GT with a 15HP Yamaha Good times indeed.

He's a really nice bloke, had a good chat with him on Saturday and it's very generous of him to throw in all the spares with the 430. I wasn't too sure what to offer him at first, but think he was quite happy that he won't have to go through the hassle of advertising the car now - anyway it was a pleasure doing business with him. I'm already looking around at what else I can find for it but as soon as I get it home I'll be on the blower to Mike's mate David Askew in nearby Claybrooke Magna ;)

I'd love a 3500GT....!

Me too.
Was 9 years old when I first started to ski on Windermere, in the hot summer of '76.
Progressed to mono skiing in my teens, always a single ski wet start guy too!
I'll Ski behind anything.
32 foot Fairline Sedan most fun, would pop me straight up and a massive wake to play with, not quite Miss Cumbria sized... extended tow rope required though.
Mostly behind either a Sims Super Vee jet drive, not really powerful enough for mono wet starts, or a Dateline Bounty.
That was dangerous, it had a Mercruiser V6 205 sterndrive, it was really too heavy for the hull and looked like it was sinking. Dateline never fitted another! Was super fast though. Either a 21" prop for ultimate speed... or 19" prop for insane acceleration.
Happy days.
All ended in 1990 when my parents separated unfortunately.
So inconsiderate!!
Last time I skied was a few years ago on a wild river in South Africa. After passing all the wild life I made sure I didn't fall over!!

I tried in the Med many years later and I was ****. I presumed it was like snow skiing where half a decade off makes no difference but water skiing is harder!

On a similar theme I went out in a mokoro on the okavango delta not long before Covid and that was hairy enough with hippos warning you off from their bit of swamp. Never saw the crocs but if you see them it is too late. Too slow for water skiing mind!

I was fine on two skis, not so sure I could mono ski again though, mind willing, body not...
In South Africa I asked as I jumped in was anything in the water I should be afraid of. The South African reply was you are in now, as they took up the slack. There was not way I was going to fail with that comment!
