I wouldn't let many people near my Maserati but Halfords are running Promotion on giving a free MOT if you buy something in their shop.

The cynics will said that they'll find something wrong and charge you for the fix, but I know that many of you have multiple cars, all in scrupulous condition. So worth a sniff.

I used a halfords autocentre nearly 10 years ago... As Ozzy Man says "yeah, nah"

I'll go ahead and pay to get it done as part of my annual

and there lies the problem, those muppets will probably fail a car on something ridiculous like bulb out or no windscreen fluid etc and then ruin a clean run of previous "PASS" mot's

The MOT tester is usually a qualified mechanic or technician rather than the muppets that fit bulbs and wiper blades.
The only exception i remember for not being qualified is you own the Garage business.

My car passed mine with worn tyre cos he knew I was good for my word - tyre co had ordered wrong size and fitted it next day. I've used him for years and he knows I don't skimp and keep it serviced on time etc. Some of his customers drive him mad, buy a car, don't look after it, don't service it, and they genuinely think the only cost of ownership is the purchase price and the fuel.

Agreed, build a relationship with your local village garage and an MOT will not be a daunting procedure.

Let’s be honest, nothing’s free. If it was they wouldn’t be in business, you can’t do things for free, well not for long.
