Had mine (AZ) this morning. To say I feel as rough as a badger's is understating it somewhat. I never react well to vaccines. I'm allergic to penicillin which they all seem to have in minute quantities. I feel a lot worse than I did after my first flu jab a couple of months ago.

I'll report back tomorrow if I'm still around to do so.

missed this, had my second jab first days in January with the Oxford thingy. Felt nothing at all after each, to the point I was convinced it was the placebo for a while, until told it was the real one (I participated in a test). All ship shape to date!

Thanks Zep.
Had really bad flu-like symptoms last night, woke up about 3am with a fever and chills and aching all over, but woke up this morning feeling OK. Very strange. Hope the second dose doesn't wipe me out again.
My sister had the same reaction to the AZ vaccine last Friday but her husband didnt. My two older brothers also had Pfizer last week and they had no issues at all. So just waiting for mine now.
PS I'm also allergic to penicillin but according to the nurse at my local medical centre it shouldnt make any difference at all. So fingers crossed.

There has been nothing highlighted by the NHS with regard to adverse effects to those allergic to penicillin, I’m sure this would have been highlighted if it were a fact. Not to mention the media reaction if it were true, gloom and doom merchants. I also know someone who told the nurse that was giving him the vaccination that he was allergic to penicillin and was told it’s is not a problem, and it wasn’t !
And to be honest, if I were to have a similar reaction that only lasted one night I would not consider that a big deal compared with the potential consequences to not having had the jab.

I agree. Just want to get the vaccine now. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

When I had my first jab they were concerned when I mentioned I have a bad allergic reaction to nuts!
Not bad enough for a EpiPen, but not far off..
I had the Pfizer jab, except for a sore arm for a couple hours ..Nothing!

Had the AZ vaccine a few days ago. Didn't feel the needle. No side effects whatsoever.
Apart from. That night I had the deepest sleep that I've had for a while and it felt like a
night full of dreams. Very realistic, but not quite lucid dreaming. Unfortunately.
When I woke up the next morning, I couldn't recall a single detail of any of the dreams.
One might've been a bit Yellow Submarine ish, but not sure.
[Forgot to add. Upon Googling, I found multiple official sources like WHO, listing vivid
intense dreaming following immunisation, as a side effect, reported by many patients]
Been advised to wait three to six months for the booster, as nearer six months boosts the
efficacy according to the Lancet. Quite considerably too.
Didn't seem to have a choice. AZ was what is available right now in my area.
I'm convinced that I've already had Covid. In January 2020. Because of a particular
set of circumstances and the week of illness that followed. But I was never able
to get hold of a reliable test, so will probably never know.
Been shielding, as they call it, since December 2019. Except for a slip up in January
as mentioned. Will probably continue to shield for the foreseeable future, because of
the virus mutations.
I regret not doing something more constructive for the last year and a bit. But, life is
what passes you by, when you're too worried about Covid ;)

Just booked mine (UK NHS) following getting a large print letter and a rather patronising leaflet called 'Guide for older adults'.

Looking forward to a little outing a couple of weeks from now and again in 3 months.

My social media used to be full of :
"that evil toff moron Boris is trying to kill us all by delaying the 2nd dose, when doing that hasn't been tested by the trials, and against all medical advice, just to try to scam the international vaccination league tables"

Now it is full of:
"that evil toff moron Boris tried to kill us all by delaying the 2nd dose, and its no defence that he turned out to be right and that a longer gap is quite effective, and possibly better"

Mine should be due soon. Fingers crossed!

There was also a nice survey at the end of the booking, which allowed me to point out the spelling mistake on the booking website. Now, when he books, @CatmanV2 will be able to check whether the final confirmation page still spells 'appointment' with 3 'p's in one place.

Same like the evil toff Boris should have gone with the EU purchasing program. Profit over people again, I guess.
