Edit, 30 April 2021 - No longer 'Wanted', but acquired: https://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/quattroporte-v-4-7-wanted.33079/page-4#post-856656

I am 'in funds' now, and in the market for an excellent QPV. Open to specific proposals, suggestion, leads or general comments.
  • Facelift 2009 or later, ideally 2011 or later
  • 4.7 or GT S, not 4.2
  • Light-coloured interior, ideally sabbia, not the usual black or red
  • Ideally green, grey, bordeaux pontevecchio, silver, or black or blue, but not red or white
  • Lovely wood trim, none of that carbon fibre nonsense
  • Around 30,000 miles would be great, but would consider 5,000-70,000
  • Not the full Bose (with the extra dials), as I hear you can't add Airplay with that?
  • Flappy paddles (or can I retrofit these?)
  • Good service history (of course)
Would be interested in trading in my nice, but slightly rugged, 2009 black/sabbia 4.2

;)
It is a fine solid car with good mechanicals and is a reliable daily driver. But I can't deny that it is in need of some cosmetic and minor mechanical care (another parking sensor just gone) which I have not got round to doing.

Definitely no bose head unit if you want Matts upgrade.

Can you swap out the Bose for the basic?
Lots of changing of plugs, different trim surround required etc. Probably doable but a lot of faff. Probably easier to get audio company to upgrade to an Alpine Halo or similar and shift factory head unit for other settings.

Hi Mark,

Re: -
Hi all
Sorry to be a tiny bit spammy, but I'm looking to buy a 2010-12 4.7 QPV with a light-coloured interior, so I thought I would message everyone listed as having a QP
Please let me know if you have, or know of, something suitable.
Thanks
Mark

If you look at my signature, mine is a 4.2 and I have no intention of selling it.

Thanks John - I remember seeing yours a The Orchard a couple of years ago, and it is very nice indeed. I'd forgotten it is a 4.2.

Thats a wide potential price range, about 15-45k. Doesn’t seem to be many on the market at the moment.

This must be one of the last GTS for the UK as they stopped bringing them over here. When speaking to the sales man at Dick Lovett he said it just wasn’t worth Maserati while giving the car to us as if just didn’t sell. Would you spend that sort of money on it though as that is going to drop like a stone. Better of with one of the early ones probably as they seem great value these days although the newer grill does look more up to date.

But you already have QPV mkII, so unless you find a GTS with low miles is it really worth paying up only to upgrade from 4.2 to 4.7 ?

Although mine's an S rather than a GTS, DL sold it to its first owner who then px'd it back through them for a near-identical one three years later. In the meantime they were moving QP's and at one point I went to see a used GTS they had, but that soon sold. Neither version was ever going to be a volume car, but I think the final nail for DL was when FCA were twisting dealers' arms for investment in the Levante programme and that was too big an ask; DL already had Ferrari, AM, Porsche, and JLR, so there was little incentive for them to continue with Maserati sales. They will still service them, and as my trusted MOT man has moved on they now MOT my QP's.

I think the Graypaul car is lovely, and as you say it's probably one of the last of that era. Expensive maybe, but I'm sure there's a deal to be done - and what a car.

I can quite see Mark's point in looking for a 4.7 QP V and it's a good choice, although a needle in a haystack might be easier to find!

A late mkI but otherwise looks very nicely spec'd and mint. Asking is adventurous though...
