Guildford is grey for general, green for recycling, little green caddy for all food waste and brown for garden waste at extra cost. No purple or yellow in this (C/c)onservative area.
Sorry the car... Yeah nice...

Bins! Purple is obviously, as previously stated, for general waste. Grey is for mixed recycling, (predominantly wine bottles.) Green is for garden waste, but now charged for so mine doesn't get collected, robbing bar stewards. Little brown caddy thing for food waste but I don't use it as I always seem to miss collection dates with working away, so I use it to keep the dog food in lol.

Won't use the pig bins here in the sticks as the Badgers pull them apart to eat the leftovers.

Yea, we have to pay 40 quid a year for our green bins..
But I've noticed on a couple of occasions they've just chucked the contents of the green bin in with the normal refuse.
So Its all bollox this recycling... Its just the extra cash there after!

They charge us £35 a year per bin for the garden waste (brown bin) then sell the compost made from it as well!

£41 for a Guildford brown bin. Less a quid a week for all garden waste. Cheaper than taking it to the tip, community recycling centre

Suppose so, but then you get the muppets who don't give a **** and don't want to pay and who then chuck all there rubbish in other peoples bins!
I caught one at it last Tuesday night, he's defiantly still in hospital!

Had a go in one of those new Yaris things the other day, wow it was impressive..
Except for the awful "lane assist"... you just couldn't take the line without the steering wheel being pulled out of your hands, blo*dy dangerous!

Then I found out you could turn it off, but apparently on some other cars you cant.

Dave
Dave, you're right, lane-assist where it grabs the wheel is a bloody menace.

That feisty new Yaris, on the other hand, looks excellent. Clarkson's review of it in the Sunday Times was very positive.

Also the same but worth it in my opinion.

I pay 70 quid a year (2 bins) so I also think it’s worth it, but 2 years ago I paid nothing and my council tax had increased both years. It’s basically just another stealth tax probably introduced in such a way that they can claim only a small increase in actual council tax..

I told them it was biodegradable and I'd get rid of it myself lol and I wasn't paying.. I actually put it into the 1 tonne sacks you get stuff delivered in and take it down the recycle centre.

I only paid for 1 bin last year, filled the second one and stick it in the car and took it to the dump!

That's the attitude , it's only £1 a week

Have a feel under the lip of your bin , you'll find a recess about the size of £1 coin , that's for the ID chip when they bring in waste disposal by weight

They'll still want the rates though but you'll get less and less for it

It will just encourage even more fly tipping.
Fly tipping has increased locally after the waste sites stopped accepting building waste.

Of course. Governments only have one source of money

We have I new young guy next door, who apparently is not sure what to put in what bin

He put lots of polystyrene packaging in the recycle bin yesterday! not only did the guys not take it away they put an enforcement order on him.
He now has to pay a 80 quid fine!
