Build primer on but having problems with my compressor. It’s just not producing the volume of air. Maybe it’s rings don’t really know or if it’s worth pulling the head to look or not.

I’ve got a little oil filled radiator I’ve been leaving in overnight. Which is pretty good and keeping it from getting too cold in there. And a blower which heats it up really quickly. Kinda dreading the electric bill!

Garage is 45mm wood so pretty insulated. Floor is cold though. I don’t remember a concrete floor bring this cold before. Should have insulated it. But having dug a 6m square 300mm deep hole by hand another 100mm for insulation would’ve killed me. I’m going to get some carpet floor tiles I think

I bought an 8kw diesel heater from eBay for about £100. Haven’t used it that much but it does take the chill off on the days we have had frost.

A mate of mine covered his concrete floor with the thin insulation used when installing electric underfloor heating and then put 15mm ply over the top, quick and simple, not too expensive and remarkably effective.
That sounds I great idea. I’m renovating my garage at the moment and was wondering how to stop the cold coming through the concrete floor.

Although most of it is loose laid, he has bonded it near the garage door and used a rubber edging to stop any water that might blow in.
he also painted his to seal it.

Mine is a concrete base but not insulated. I did think about using interlocking plastic tiles but plywood would be about half the price. Some primer and a couple of coats of floor paint.

I have a concrete garage floor. I went with decent underlay with a foil vapour trap as the concrete sweats a little and then click laminate flooring as it’s cheap as chips but looks decent. My garage is also my office so I want it to be homely and warm but no so fancy that i worry about using it for garage things.

Fingers crossed last lot of primer on.

New compressor is much better but only after I replace the quick release at the start of the ring main. Which was corroded so could have been the issue all along.

Bit more sanding then paint.

As you know, fiberglass is easy to modify...
I wonder what the shark would look like with Boomerangs on the back? (like your avatar)

May I ask what you're doing about breathing kit, and will you be using 2-pack paint?
I'm going to be doing some spray painting in the spring and have sourced 3-stage filtering and full forced-air breathing kit as I plan on using a 2-pack paint system.
Thanks

Yep 2K

I’m using a filter type system. Downside is the filters have an open life of 24hrs and I typical change them after an hour too so at £10 a filter they’re expensive. To use an air fed system the compressor needs to be outside the exposure area otherwise you’re just feeding yourself chemicals unless it has a filter in which case you’re in the same boat for regular changes.

Thanks. Yes, my compressor will be sited out in the fresh air, and plumbed into my garage.
What is this filter-type system you refer to?
