Seems was only MOT'd recently also, was that by the dealer?

Makes the wooden block spacing out my incorrectly sized battery look like childsplay , oh and I am waiting for it to die before I replace it ;)
No the mot was done just before they got it. But they did claim to have carried out a full inspection on it

Nope, I wish it was.

The dealer told me it needed a new rear disk, I asked for both to be done before I took it. Only one was done and in doing so they broke the hub carrier and took out the entire handbrake system on that side of the car. Needless to say I’ve emailed them and will be insisting it’s fixed and not by them. Will be straight to Matt or I’ll be asking for a full refund
Oh dear. I am only half-competent home mechanic but can manage to do the rear brakes. One of the least complicated jobs to do on these cars. Nothing trick about it or special calliper rewind tools. Just needs common sense. I did have to get a few new handbrake widgets for mine, which might be in short supply. Used parts will be available.

I’m confident I could have done a better job! Even my 3 year old son would have made less of a hash of it! I priced up the cost of new parts to fix what they have broken and the cost was £1338.61 from Scuderia Car Parts!

Hopefully dealer will front up. The handbrake cable can be a PITA If the end is smashed off yours.

Did you add Vat and postage? Sounds like it is getting for a 2k job with labour and trouble thrown in.

Glad you got the shudder sorted, sorry to hear all the other issues but better to catch them now and get some comeback on the dealer.

Looking like the car will be going back the garage didn’t offer me anything towards repairs and I’m not willing to foot that bill myself. So if anyone is after a Maserati and sees one for sale, don’t buy this one without checking the OSR hub!

That’s a real shame, but now I guess you can choose a different one!

It seems to happen with most of the cars they sell :(
How do they stay in business.
I know they put many disclaimers that many things will need doing etc but all seems farcical to me.

Sorry to hear of your experience with carswithnoreservereading.

I have no issue with the fact that they sold a car with issues, they will never have garage queens for sale.

But what is disturbing, and which is completely unacceptable, is to have undertaken work at their expense and by agreement which left the car as a clear MOT failure.

If they are accepting the return and letting you walk away, that is something but I feel they are lucky if you don't report them to trading standards.

They may not be a dealer in the conventional sense, but they should not be removing safety items from a car.

Sorry to hear that,t. Hope you can find a better example. They are truly worth it.

This is it, Matt from SportsItalia did an inspection and there were common faults for me to fix (parking sensors, some light oil leaks, corrosion protection, lipped discs etc) and I wasn’t requesting them to be fixed. Just the handbrake and hub which I don’t think is unfair given the state they have left it in.
