The Road to Le Mans 2021

I watched the Thursday night practice last night on Eurosport and got thoroughly depressed and angry about not being there... My usual routine is to arrive in LeMans thursday afternoon, and we usually go to the Porsche Curves around 9pm to watch the night practice with a big box of beers and some vin rouge....

So last night I opened a bottle of red wine, drank it all, then fell asleep on the sofa after a couple of whiskies! This at least meant I woke up this morning with a headache similar to what I would have had if I was in LeMan.

I reckon we’ve got a couple of spare chemical toilets on site if you want the full experience.

I have managed to avoid last years headache which involved an afternoon on Belgium beers, half a bottle of port in about 30mins and then tripping into the tent where I fell asleep. I blame the jet lag from a 13hr flight back from Bangkok and then packing off to Le Mans 36hrs later personally...Am gutted, it is the first year since 2003 I haven’t been there for the race

Scaffolding on the house has meant I can't get a signal on Sky to watch this....Follow Nicki Thiin in the Aston and was looking forward to watching this year....

Good news is that as of now (8am in France) AM is leading the GTPro class.....but it’s the other team car. Nikki is in 3rd. The TF sport AM is also leading GTAm, so a good result so far but still 6 hours to go!

Looking forward to welcoming you all back to La Sarthe in June. If you want to be at the heart of the action and history at the home of the Aston, GT40 and Porsche teams, a forum member has booked us for the rescheduled Classic in July, but we still have availability for the 24H.

See www.eventsreinvented.com/maisondespilotes for details and to book.

I so hope this is on (for spectators) this year. Even after only 3 years of going it left a big hole in the summer where we should have been drinking too much beer and eating too much bread and enjoying the French roads.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think we will be ready (vaccination wise), but I don't think the French will. I hope I'm wrong though.

Here in France we're waiting for an announcement imminently.
Sadly quite a % say they aren't taking it.

Would you mind summarising the plan, dates and cost.

TIA

But, if we're all vaccinated that would make us superior beings that get granted all access passes as a result, surely?
